Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Friendly bar with good selection of beers and ales. Dog friendly and excellent nachos, enough to share to accompany drinks. Very friendly and helpful service

We went for a couple of beers and they have a great choice. It's all very table and chairs oriented, not a standing sort of pub. Very civilised. A friend went recently to a quiz night as well.

There are plenty of decent drinking places in Folkestone but this is our staple - great real ales for my (fussy) husband, good selection of other beers, wine & spirits, very reasonably priced, unpretentious, good music but not intrusive, super-friendly bar manager (Max). If you like loud trendy places I’m happy to tell you to stay away; if you like your bars slightly scruffy, friendly and laid-back, this is your place!

My wife and I visited here over the weekend while staying in Folkestone. We had been recommended it by friends who live there. We were made very welcome by the staff . It is a great little find and the range of drinks is excellent. Obviously we tried a few . We also returned the following day to meet up with our friends to continue sampling the goods. .
If you are in Folkestone and like a nice ale or cider do not miss Kipps Alehouse.

I popped in for a quick beer before heading home, I was sat down by a polite blonde lady who signed me in.

A brunette Irish was also there making drinks. Both staff were great with COVID rules whilst still making it feel like a pub experience

Kipps did not let us down, a wide selection of different craft ales many of a foreign origin which went down extremely well... Staff are friendly helpful and you're able to have tasters to find exactly what you want to drink. The only reason we had to leave was we had a prior engagement/and ruby otherwise my wife would have stayed to closing time.... Well worth a visit, if you find this help to you can you please place a tick....R

Lovely ale house at the top of the Old High Street. Fantastic selection of beers from all over the place and a must if you are a beer drinker in the area. Live music was brilliant. Friendly, welcoming and quite quirky pub. Highly recommended. Didn’t get the opportunity to try the food so will be back again!
