Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is located in the heart of Folkestone... this tower / clock is the only remaining piece of the church located at the remembrance garden .... worth it to walk around and spend some time at the garden

I have walked through the gardens many occasions. Just the tower is remaining of this church. On Remembrance Day the gardens display poppies. Location is about 15 minute walk from Folkestone Central Railway, up castle. Hill avenue. Nearby is the William Harvey statue and the famous leas.

This location would have been reviewed many more times if it had a different title! It is next to a church that was bombed in the war and is a memorial garden to those lost in action. A nice tribute to those killed, but it would better if the location was differently titled.

The tower and gardens have a sad history. The tower is all that remains of Christ Church which was consecrated on 27 July 1850. The church was destroyed by a German Bomb on 17 May 1942. The tower is still there today and around the clock is carved "Trifle not thy time is short". Where the church once stood there is a garden of remembrance. According to the BBC's WW2 People's War website "on the morning of Sunday the 17th, Christ Church in Sandgate Road was hit, killing two ladies who had arrived early. If the attack had happened half an hour later the church would have been full, as troops were due to arrive for their service and were already formed up the Leas"

A quiet now green space and a fitting memorial for those who have died in the pursuit of our peace including the Gurkha’s and even a stone to remember the animals
