The booking process was easy and communication was great. Staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Would 100% recommend and look to visit again if in Scarborough.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 19 November 2023
- Alex NScarborough, United Kingdom25 contributionsReally good funAwesome experience with 7 friends. A really well thought out escape room. With just enough help and intervention to keep things moving from the staff. Great narrative and video interludes that immersed us all shoving the puzzles.Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 21 November 2023
- alisonsmith54Tavistock, United Kingdom12 contributionsFantastic entertaining challenge! We had a fantastic time helping Sherlock Holmes save Teddy Roosevelt. This was a really detailed, very well organised escape room, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. It gave us plenty of challenges, with support when we needed it! Thank you Mr E Rooms, we had a blast.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 25 November 2023
- BethB2 contributionsNever disappoints!Me and my friend have been to Scarborough escape rooms a number of times and they never disappoint! All the staff are amazing and guide you through the rooms (if needed!) we will definitely be back for the next Christmas room for another laugh! Couldn’t recommend more! They also have escape room games you can take home and do it in the comfort of your own home which are still just as good!Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 30 November 2023
- Dan P4 contributionsAwesome time full of fun and laughterThe owner is very enthusiastic and enthralls you into the experience the second you walk in, quick witty remarks interlaced with instructions you need provide the perfect atmosphere. We went to the room and it looked fantastic, plenty of challenging riddles and clues and hints provided if you get overly stuck but enough lack of involvement from the overwatcher that you feel still immersed but know you won't be abandoned. I've been to a few escape rooms and although the wizarding one wasn't overly challenging it was great fun so myself and the team really really enjoyed it. We'll done guys looking forward to booking in again 👏🏻👏🏻Visited December 2023Travelled on businessWritten 19 December 2023
- Helen B2 contributionsSurvived the electric chair! What a wonderful experience! We went with a couple of friends who had been to escape rooms before but our own lack of experience didn't hamper the enjoyment. We were oblivious to the passage of time as we attempted to solve the clues and appreciated the help we were given to achieve success in the end. The trip proved you're never too old to try something new and exciting. We can imagine our children and grandchildren would find it equally engaging and shall certainly return the next time we're holidaying in Scarborough.Visited December 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 21 December 2023
- Liz C1 contributionThe best Escape Rooms!Absolutely brilliant Escape Room! We did the Psychic room as a family - 2 adults and 2 teenagers. So well designed and the host made it even more special. We completed the Sherlock Holmes room and while we needed lots of hints we had a wonderful time. We are now hooked on escape rooms and will definitely be doing more! Thanks to the Mr E Rooms team for making our visit fun and memorable. We hope to be back before too long!Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 13 February 2024

Visited today with my daughter for The Wizard's Quest. We've previously done an escape room in Hull so after discovering this one, we decided to see if they had any available time slots and were lucky to get the only free slot.
I thought this was more difficult, but we were given some hints when we needed them and managed to find the Wizard's Spell and save the day with just seconds to spare.
We would definitely recommend this for any fans of a certain boy wizard or escape rooms.

Just completed the Pirate Ship Mystery. What great fun. The guy who hosts gets right into character and helps build the anticipation before your game starts. I would highly recommend this spot. We came before lock down and have done most of their games. Great family fun and value for money. We look forward to coming again and completing all the new rooms.

From the moment we walked in you could tell this was going to be good. Myself and 4 friends tackled terminating here. The chat before hand to set the scene was done beautifully, and the room was amazing.
Standing on the platform of a tube station with locked suitcases, ticket machines, locked doors, a realistic train... absolutely amazing attention to detail.
Tricky clues and plenty to do meaning the whole team were constantly busy - which is often a problem with escape rooms.
We moved through it swiftly with only a few problems along the way. We got flustered at the end as we got a bit scared! But we solved the room with minutes to spare! Afterwards Neil let us have a peek in the other rooms, all looked amazing! Such attention to detail. I can't wait to come back and do them all!

We did the wizard quest with 10yo daughter. She was a bit apprehensive as worried about being scared. Absolutely loved it, solving puzzles together with some wizardly Guidance along the way. Fab set up, great welcome/ explanation by operator and even dad got into it and would try again. Thanks very much.

Visiting Scarborough for the day with three friends, we fancied trying an escape room. None had done one previously, On line booking was easy and there is car parking within 100 metres.
Our host was very welcoming and amusing and he introduced us to the concept and how we should approach the game with encouraging kindness.
The room was such an eclectic mix of props and posters we felt we really were in Houdini's dressing room.
At first we struggled (we chose the Sherlock Holmes game), not realising that the clues were two stage. But we received a little help, from a mysterious voice coming from a prop coffin.
We failed to solve the mystery within the hour but were just one clue short.
This was a hugely entertaining experience and one I'd like to repeat. The owner/host has an unbelieveable attention to detail and his clues were very well thought through, as well as the plot.
Highly recommended

Went to do the Sherlock Holmes Escape Room on a Saturday. The introduction to the room was brilliant, and once we got inside it was really immersive. The attention to detail was brilliant and we quickly got in the swing of things with the puzzles. There was a lot variation in the room (without giving anything away) and some great moments.
The team running the show were fantastic and really enthusiastic, I would really recommend going and facing the room's challenge. We'll definitely go back.

We love Mr E's! This was our first visit back in 3 years since the all the pandemic restrictions and it was so worth it! They have expanded the experience and made some great improvements and new rooms. The host is very friendly and accommodating and is brilliant at setting the scene. There is also now an introduction to the room you will do in a bar-like Wizard's Lounge which is great.
We did two rooms on different days, Psychic and War Room. These are both very atmospheric with all the artefacts and nick-nacks carefully chosen to make you believe you really are in a different world! Both rooms offered an excellent level of challenge and really got us thinking and problem-solving right to the wire! They have been really well put together and thought through.
We'd thoroughly recommend a visit if you are looking for a guaranteed distraction and guaranteed great fun. We really look forward to some of the new rooms they have planned.

We were probably the escape rooms first visitors since the lifting of lock down. Whilst closed the owners have been busy making the facilities as safe as possible, they have upgraded and modified the rooms to minimize handling of some artifacts and provide better clean down between groups, they have done these things in a very clever way in that the game play does not appear to have been effected and the game srun as well as ever. We were lucky enough to be able to play three of the four games available (yes we are sad and play escape games any change we get) and we did received a returning player discount on some of our games, but not enough to influence my review and score. I obviously cannot tell you to much about the games because it would spoil the problem solving. We played Sherlock Holmes, The Mission, and Madam Gazunda's world of wonder, all the games were excellent and played well in the covid safe format, The outlines for the game are on the website, so I am not going to re-type them here. I enjoyed Sherlock best, found Madame G hardest even though we broke out of every one within the hour (only 3 seconds left ont he Mission!)

We did the Psychic Escape Room as part of a Hen Weekend and it was amazing!
The Gamesmaster was such a natural at storytelling and prepared us well before we were locked in Madame Gazunda's parlour. There was so much attention to detail and the puzzles were challenging but we received support when neccessary.
Would love to return and try another Escape Room as it is one of the best I have done!
There were 6 of us in total and we escaped with 7 minutes to spare!
