    Brilliant place
Me and my sibling visited during our holiday in Skegness. We had an amazing couple of hours here. The seals were well looked after and the seal talk was very informative and we learned something new about seals. They also had a variety others animals including; meerkats, butterflies, alpacas, penguins, fish and reptiles. Despite the rain showers we had we found plenty to look at, The gift shop was really good value for money and had a range of souvenirs. You were able to feed the goats, sheep and alpacas and it was only 50p a bag of food. The experience was overall really enjoyable. The only downside was that it couldn't fill a while day, we only spent around 4 hours there maximum.
Thank you so much for your review! We really do appreciate your feedback so much! So glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit, as we are a smaller site our average viewing time is around 2 hours so we are glad that you spent such a while with us! Thank you for your comments :)

    Who doesn't like seeing seals
I went here with my autistic son as he enjoys seeing all animals. There is no need to advance book so you just turn up be aware that there is a £7 charge for carers. The site itself has various areas for you to visit and you are given a map at the start. After going through the entrance to the right is the main residents pool and there is a board on the wall for the feeding times. You are able to view any recovering seals they have in the seal hospital through a glass window. Other areas include a reptile house, aquarium, Penguins and a pet's corner (goats). In the Floral palace they house birds and butterflies some of the plants appeared to have died in areas especially the cacti (some of the plants did look really old).
Thank you so much for your review and we are so glad that you enjoyed your visit! We appreciate your comments and will definitely take them on board, thank you!

    Never a disappointment!
The pictures say it all. They do amazing work, with zero government funding. This time, one of the resident seals, Pixie, was pregnant! Missed seeing her pup by a couple of days. Managed to catch baby seal feeding time, and it was a pleasure to see. The seal hospital always tugs at my heartstrings, but I love to see them released on Instagram. Feeding the goats is definitely worth doing, though, you need to watch out for Henry!! He will eat anything he can get his teeth on 😂 There’s also the penguins having a swim and the meerkats keeping watch. There’s loads and loads more to see. Great accessibility measures. Toilets are clean. The food is delicious, and drinks are always available. The gift shop is a must!! You will need a good 2/3 hours here, especially if you want to catch the feedings.
Thank you so much for such a lovely review, Henry is probably our biggest star at Natureland he's such a character! We are so glad that you enjoyed your visit and appreciate the comments!

    Wonderful family visit
Fantastic visit with our daughter to the seal sanctuary. She really enjoyed listening to the talks at feeding time and learning all about the rescued and resident seals. The staff member doing the talk spent time answering her questions afterwards as well. She loved seeing Pixie’s new baby seal and meeting all the other animals too. We spent a couple of hours there with plenty to keep her entertained. Well worth a visit.
Thank you so much for your review, we are so glad that you found our talks educational and enjoyed your visit! We do hope you will come back and see us again!

Absolutely love this hidden gem of a place, there work is amazing and so many educational factors throughout. The entrance fee goes to helping the animals/ rescuing seals and is worth every Penny. Strongly recommend and return every year… amazing work and friendly staff!

    Good value
Good value for money. Polite staff. The place was looking a bit tired, example - weeds inside the seal main pool. The cacti house looked like it was totally neglected. Loved the seal talks. Didn't like the selling of pens etc around the rearing pool. You could see people like us looking away. Some signage was missing in the reptile house. The birds & butterfly house were lovely. We sat for ages watching them. We spent 3 enjoyable hours there.
Thank you so much for your review, we will completely take your comments on board, thank you for letting us know! There is absolutely no pressure to buy anything from our Save Our Seals box however we do it just in case anyone would like a little souvenir and 100% of the profits go straight towards our seal hospital! We hope that you come and visit us again!

A definite must do if visiting the area.
This place will always hold a special place in my heart. Our first stop on my baby boys first trip to Skegness and what a day it was. The whole experience was wonderful from start to finish, it’s not a huge place but there’s still so much to see and take in. The staff were incredible, friendly and informative and the seal talks were great. A definite must do if visiting the area.
Thanks so much for such a lovely review! We really do appreciate it so much, we are so glad that you enjoyed your visit and we hope to welcome you and your little boy back soon! :)

DIVE INTO FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!
Gorgeous array of seals and other animals. Got to the sanctuary just in time to catch two seals being released into the ocean. The cafe prices were quite low but we didn t eat there, we ate a the trawlers catch. Overall would go again.
Thanks so much for your review! We are so glad that your enjoyed your day and were lucky enough to catch a release, they are one of the best parts! We hope to see you again sometime! :)

    As great as ever
It is years since our last visit and it is still as great as ever. It cost £11 each which is a brilliant price for two hours of entertainment. The feed time for the seals was a must, the keeper was so knowledgeable and really interesting. We loved the whole atmosphere as it felt relaxed with customers even allowed to bring their pets. What a brilliant facility as all of the seals are rescued by the team and if well enough released back into the sea.
Thanks so much for your review! We are so glad that your enjoyed your visit, our feeding times are so much fun for everyone, we hope to see you again sometime! :)

Fantastic way to spend an hour or two at a very reasonable £11 each for adults.
Fantastic way to spend an hour or two at a very reasonable £11 each for adults. Small but very well presented including not just seals but also penguins, meerkats, alpacas, tropical birds,  aquarium, koi carp pool, plus goats, and chickens. Animal food can be bought to feed the specific animals also reasonably priced as is the gift shop. We were here without children but I would highly recommend it for those with children.
Thanks so much for your review! We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit! We hope to see you again :)

A little rescue centre , we stayed for an hour , which was plenty of time to look round everything a couple of times . The really friendly receptionist told us we were welcome to pop back for feeding time which we did . Happy to pay the entrance fee to go towards the seal rehabilitation.

Having been here 5 years ago we were a little unsure about going back as we had our dog with us....not a problem! The only place she couldn't go was inside the gift shop, the tropical house and restaurant. This is still a great place to visit and would highly recommend it for a couple of hours and worth travelling down the Skegness strip for.

This is a small sanctuary but fantastic and wonderful that there are kind people to help the animals etc that need a good home and rehabilitation. You can feed the goats and lamas. See the seals being fed and there are many other animals. There is a gift shop and cafe. We throughly enjoyed a couple of hours there.

The negative reviews below were useful to lower expectations, but they're a bit over the top - we spent a very pleasant 2-3 hours here, and could have spent more - plenty to see and plenty of variety. As ever with animals/zoos, you'll get most value from the animals when they're fed - eg the meerkats were pretty much a no-show until the keeper stuck some fruit & veg out for them and then they did their stuff. People who saw fake snakes and crocodiles and a single penguin shouldn't have bothered - there's a caiman and 4 or 5 real snakes, 2 penguins, 2 meerkats - small but perfectly formed collection of animals. Only the Koi pond was a bit of a mystery in that the water was do full of algae you cound;t realy see the fish, but everything else was great. Reptile houses and aquariums are dark for a reason and everyhng was open as far as I could see - saw a good 10 species of butteflies in the butterfly house some reviewer said was "closed for repairs". So read and then ignore the mystifying 1* / 2* reviews and give Natureland a go - the megagoat rocks!

Thank you so much for your fab review, we are currently treating the koi pond as the algae blooms have been persistent this year which is not ideal but cannot be helped when it is sunny unfortunately! Thank you so much for coming to our defence, some comment are a bit unbelievable, and we all absolutely adore our goat Henry!! Thanks again, we hope to see you again! :)

Really nice attraction. It clearly needs the funds that it gets to survive but its doing a good job of rescuing and rehabilitating seals.
It also has the biggest goat I have ever seen!

Having visited several times in the past I was excited to show my mother in law the seal sanctuary...I was so disappointed. It is now run down and needs a lot of updating, cleaning and maintenance. We caught the end of the seal talk which was done with knowledge and enthusiasm by the staff member. We then moved onto the seal pup pool which had about 6 pups in it and was being filled up slowly by a hosepipe which was clearly going to take quite some time. They did not have much water to swim in and infact had dry fur on their backs. The koi carp pond was filthy and murky and you could hardly see the fish. We didn't see the tortoise ( whether in hiding or just not there I'm not sure), the two sad looking penguins had no water at all in their pool. The tropical butterfly house was closed for repairs. In the aquarium some tanks were clean but others not and both in here and the reptile area it was gloomy. My MIL did not like the uneven flooring in the reptile house as she couldn't see where she was going properly due to the lack of lighting at floor level. There were only two meerkats that we saw in the indoor housing area.
Such a shame as clearly the work they do to rehabilitate the seals is done with good intentions.

Really disappointing. There wasn't really much to see. We saw the seals being fed, which was the best part of our visit. There were only 2 meerkats and one lonely penguin. We saw 2 butterflies in the butterfly house and part of it was under reconstruction, so not accessible. The aquarium and repile house were very dark and not much in them. There was a fake crocodile and a fake snake, so quite boring. This place really needs a lot of work doing to it to make it more appealing. Glad I only paid half price, really not worth even that. Such a let down.

We do actually have 2 penguins, so don't worry about them being lonely, they are happily in a couple! The butterflies unfortunately do not fly when the weather is dull, we do have a weekly delivery. Our aquarium is almost fully stocked excluding 1 tank, we are currently moving new reptile into tanks int he reptile house, all of our animals are real, our spectacled caiman, Gryffindor and our Boa, Bella are most definitely real and not boring at all! Thanks for your concern about appeal, we concern ourselves mostly with the welfare of our animals to make sure they are happy and healthy which they are, we are currently undergoing maintenance and improvements however with being self funded and receiving no grants/ lottery money etc. we have to do these as and when we have the money.

Sadly this place was a massive let down. Having read the previous reviews I was expecting a good visit and it to take a couple of hours. We had seen everything within 30 minutes and left. It’s a shame because they obviously do great work with the seals etc but the other animals weren’t great. There was only 1 meerkat and 2 penguins and we only saw 2 butterflies in the butterfly house. The Koi Carp pool was filthy and you could barely see the fish. We wanted to watch the seal feeding but it would have meant hanging around for another 45 mins and the kids were bored. The reptile house was too dark to actually see where you were going and the kids were frightened because of this. Cost £29 for myself and 3 children (1 was free) and I think it was a waste of money. Sadly not somewhere I’d recommend.

Hi, that is a shame as our usual viewing time is around 2 hours! We have just had our zoo licence inspection to which a top vet and member of the council were very impressed with our collection and had absolutely no problems with our animals who are happy and healthy. We do have 2 meerkats however they like to hide inside when it is a bit chilly, the same with our butterflies, they do not fly when the temperature is colder, which the weather has been a bit disappointing this year! The koi pond unfortunately loves the sun and the algae does bloom when we get some, this is completely natural and we do all that we can to limit this, we apologise that it is murky, however this cannot be helped! IT really is not a waste of money as everything spent here goes back towards our seal rescue work.

A lovely place to visit for a couple of hours. We enjoyed watching the seal feeding and the lady doing the talk was very informative. my son loved feeding the goats. The giftshop was reasonably priced as was the cafe. They do such good work rescuing and rehabilitating the seals and I would highly recommend a visit.
