Having trekked along the bleak area by the river, I thought that I had arrived at a building site. I soon realised that there was a good reason for this. The pub actually was a building site, with major refurbishment taking place, and temporary arrangements...More

Visited Sunday lunchtime for a private function. Not a very prepossessing pub beside the river surrounded by flattened industrial buildings (The converted malting nearby being a reminder of a more industrial past). It’s scruffy and a bit run down. But it is a real live...More

Friendly staff and excellent fish, chips and peas. Batter can be a very good indicator of quality and this a great; crisp and dry. Other food that I've had here in the past has also been unpretentious and of high quality.

Renowned for live music, good pub food and excellent beer. There was no live music when I visited but lots of flyers around the pub advertising forthcoming bands. The beer and food were very good and reasonably priced. Definitely worth a return visit.

Lovely old pub situated on the west side of the marina. Service is good and drinks reasonably priced. I decided to eat here and chose the Cajun chicken wrap which was delicious. Served with a few crisps as well! Really liked the feel of this...More

Never had a bad time here, well sourced independent ales and good pub grub in a proper pub served up by jolly good folks, try the pies and chilli. Great place to catch a gig and now with new garden. Highly recommended!
