If you have time, this is a nice place to see. Will only take a few minutes when you arrive. If weather nice, you can swim and picnic.

We were not sure what to expect, sometimes these places have a gift shop on the side and other times you nearly miss the site of interest. In this case we almost missed it due to the weather. It was raining heavily when we had...More

We procured a day bus ticket and took a picnic lunch. It's a short walk from the bus stop to the monument but you really can't miss it! As others have said it's a monument to Harald Fairhead once king of Norway and very fitting...More

Lovely location on the shore with 3 huge swords cast from metal and inserted into the earth. Picnic benches and lots of space to sit out. Small car park next to the site. Limited information on the swords at the site, could do with more...More

When in Stavanger, be sure someone tells you about the Battle of Hafrsfjord (~872), which resulted in various kingdoms uniting under the victor, Harald Fairhair. Seeing these 33 foot tall swords on the gorgeous bay was particularly moving (knowing the story). There is nothing to...More

Must to visit if you are in Stavanger! 5 km from the centre it's easy to be there by bike in about 15-20 min through an amazing bike route. There is a parking where can fix your bike if something happens and there is also...More
