My sister and I decided to become tourists in our own country and tick the Pulpit Rock-box off of our bucket lists. None of us are particularly fit(although we surprised ourselves with this hike), however the journey up the mountain was not too rough. The...More

Always begin with positives so negatives at end. A full day of achievement all prepared boots on we began the day at gate 5 for the ferry to Tau, followed by bus direct to the hike starting post. Not a race, but it was noticeable...More

I’ll start by saying I’m a 32 year old, relatively fit woman and the hike to pulpit rock took me about 3 hours up and I stopped along the way to rest and snack. It took about 2 hours to get down again and I...More

The stunning pictures available on the internet don’t do this justice...it is sublime. We were very lucky with the weather and had a great view all the way along the fjord. Note though that this walk is not a stroll...and it is incredibly busy...the busiest...More

This is not a difficult hike. It is like you climb a very tall building with many steps. But it's very, very crowded. So even if you are a hiker, you will lose time because you will have to pass so many people. So this...More

I went up the mountain with a guide because I didn‘t knew the landscape so well. But it‘s very good marked so if you think of a guided tour it‘s also easy to go all alone. But if you want to enjoy the view a...More

This was one of my best trip experience, the view from the top is amazing, everybody has to go once in a lifetime, but I suggest to start the hiking early in the morning, otherwise it is too crowded and you cannot feel the power...More

The views at the top are incredible. However, if you hike for the peacefulness and quiet effects that come your way by being in nature, this is not the hike for you. We started the hike a little before 8:00 am and the main parking...More

The hike I would rate as easy, but you MUST have hiking shoes on, or your ankles will hurt from all the uneven surfaces. After all, it is all rocks and when the weather is humid and rainy (which it most often is!) you need...More

Definitely start the hike early in the morning, otherwise it's very busy. Parking is available - 200 NOK. Nature is beautiful and the hike is perfect for beginners.

I really don`t know if you can buy tickets there, but if you walk 500 meters (1500 ft) to the railway station you can buy and also, if you walk to the next harbour, ( 5 minutes walk) you can buy tickets to the ferry which... More

I would recommend taking the cruise ship excursion. You need about 9 hours for the round trip + hike. We’ve just come back from doing this trip. We were on shore from 7am to 4pm. Cruise ship excursions are crazy expensive so... More
