You can get a taxi, road train or book a trip which includes this Viewpoint, but we wanted to walk from our cruise liner. The walk to the Viewpoint was very steep, but we are pretty fit so managed it with only a couple of...More

A pleasant drive up to the viewpoint and a delightful place to eat and take in the sights. Plenty of parking and some entrancing hiking trails to walk off the food.

Thursday 6th September we were heading to the top of Mount Aksla and our journey commenced in the City Garden (brief review below) and it was from there we climbed the 418 steps to the top. There was seating along the way for those wishing...More

We loved Alesund, which was our fourth port on our 11 day Norway-only cruise. Off the ship, we took a bus tour of the city, including a trip to the top of the mountain. If you are brave and in great shape ... you can...More

We climbed the steps up and the view was amazing. There is a road up to the top if you don't feel like climbing all the steps

This is absolutely worth going to. You can either walk up the 400+ stairs that start from the town center, or you can drive up. The road is a bit narrow near the top. Incredible 270 degree views

We didn't climb the stairs since this visit was part of an excursion, but we really enjoyed the beautiful views from the top. Really a great spot to take a look at the city and the area around it.

We saw this viewpoint from our ship when we docked in Alesund. We had a great walk around town, admiring the amazing architecture before walking up to the top of the viewing point. There are a lot of steps and in parts it’s quite narrow...More

Hi, the climb is not as bad as it seems and there are many resting areas with benches along the way. Some steps are very short and some are average. Even if you get only half way up, you will still get great views of the... More
