You can spend a life time here exploring and hiking and skiing. When the sun comes out, there is not many places on earth that beats this place. Numerous of mountains to hike/climb at all levels. Kolås, Slogen and Jønshornet to mention a few.

As a Ålesund Authorized Guide, I am in and around theese fantastic mountains. Remember the fjords are over 400 meters deep & the mountains are approx 1800 meters high. If one is visiting Norway, the Sunnmør's Mountains is a must.

We stayed three nights in a cabin on the Hjorundfjord and could not have asked for a better spot. Steep mountains dropping straight into the fjord, great hiking all over, and beautiful in any weather. Not to be missed if you visit Norway.

Hi Carol, Google Hustadnes Fjordhytter and you should find the place we stayed. We had a rental car for our entire trip and it was definitely necessary for reaching this area. Hope that helps!
