This is not what a usual Royal Palace looks like, drab exterior and very little security in evidence! At the rear ther is a small park with a nice fountain (not working when we were there!) again even the garden and grounds look rather dull!!

This is one of the very famous old wooden buildings in Trondheim. You rarely find them anywhere else, and most are in regular use. Stiftsgården is famous for its history.
