We enjoyed a short walk around the park after we looked at the palace. There are several paths underneath shady canopy. At least the section that we were in could have used a few benches to sit and enjoy the views.
This beautiful park around the king's palace is open to all. There are families, sunbathers, walkers, cyclists, tourist groups, of course, business people walking into town. Every time I am in Oslo...about 25 times so far, I walk through this park, and enjoy the scenery...More
We walked from our hotel up Karl Johan Gate to the Royal Palace which imposes itself on top of the hill. The gardens are quite nice but not particularly well maintained with weeds and longer grass detracting from what you would normally expect
