Norway's largest collection of veteran trams and buses is situated at Majorstuen in Oslo. A number of books, booklets and postcards are sold in the museum shop. To reach the museum follow the tram tracks from the intersection at Majorstuen into Valkyriegata and then up Harald Harfagres gate to the gates of the tramshed. Entrance from Gardeveien on the opposite side of the tramshed. The museum is open on Monday, Saturday and Sunday from 12 pm to 3 pm all year. Every first Sunday in the month, the museum tram is running while the museum is open. Visit the website to see the timetable.

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the museum. It's correct that it's not any heating during the winter apart from the entrance. Unfortunately that would be too expensive.

One of the really good things about this museum is that you can actually go inside almost all of the trams, buses and underground trains on display. If you have visited Oslo during the sixties, seventies, eighties or nineties you are sure to see something...More

A very nice museum that contains quite a lot of well conserved vehicles (tram, metro and bus). I would not hesitate to go back and would certainly recommend it to people interested in this! :D

Very cheap entry fee (40NOK) and very kind, welcoming staff. A small museum, all located in one large room (where the trams used to be stored whilst in use), and if you work your way around the transport is in chronological order, quite a nice...More

Here you have a real find for kids in all ages. Here we can study and go aboard old tramcars and buses. All the items were in ship-shape condition. Impressing work done by the "dugnadsgjengen"- members in Lokaltrafikkhistorisk Forening. All in all a very interesting...More

Astonishing how many different vehicles there were and in great condition. Each one with an information sheet in English describing its history, where it was from and when it stopped running. It was really interesting and many of them you get on, look at the...More

I took my 3 and 5 year old boys here for an afternoon. They absolutely loved it and wanted to go again. This museum is easy to get to from Majorstuen metro/tram/bus stop and although has limited opening hours (Saturday-Monday 1200-1500) it only costs 40NOK...More
