From our cabin we had a great view over the castle. It looked fantastic covered in snow. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to visit. But we could see many people taking advantage of the cleated paths

An iconic place for Oslo. Nice city view. Nice backyard. Go especially in Autumn. Mesmerizing! Strongly recommended

Wonderful location. Free to enter the grounds. Lots to see. Beautiful views over the fjord! Maybe a little difficult for those with mobility issues.

We went for a walk in the complex and it is super nicely renovated, plus from the edges you get to enjoy nice views to the city and sea. Definitely worth a visit as it's also very near to the Radhus and Aker Brygge.

Free to have a walk around. Worth a visit just for the views of the harbour area. Great views at night of the Bryggen.

Akershus Castle and Fortress is near the ferry terminal in Oslo harbour. The castle contains many museums with most of them being free. The castle is a pleasant walk around and offers some good harbour views. Well worth a visit.

The Fortress was closed for renovation during our visit but is still accessible to the fortress area. There are still guards watching over the fortress and the canons. The view over the harbour on the hill is spectacular. Definitely worth a walk up

Totally recommend a wander around this area, free army museum which is very good. Easy to walk to from the central bus and train stations and lovely views across the waterfront!
