- IndreBraOslo, Norway18 contributionsBest sauna experience in Oslo fjordThese are my favorite saunas in Oslo! Great experience that I can recommend everyone visiting Oslo any time of the year! They take private bookings in the evening and you can book public sessions (when you share sauna with others) through the day. These are original saunas, Måken was the first sauna to appear in Oslo fjord. They are favored by locals as it’s possible to buy season/monthly tickets. Very highly recommended!Visited October 2021Written 3 October 2021
- RateMe2Czech Republic7 contributionsGreat place!Really a floating sauna , looks like it was home made . Not really place to get changed , just a small little room or in the walkway . It is rough but unique wear your swimsuit before you go to make it a little easier . Great wood burning sauna . Make sure you get there before 18:00 as 19:00 they ask you to leave to allow the private reservations .No showers just a garden hose :)Visited January 2020Written 22 January 2020

I booked a shared sauna at 7pm, so there were other people using the same sauna. It was hot! I loved jumping into the fjord- so exhilarating! The view of the opera house was beautiful. If you only do one thing at night, you gotta try these saunas. Friendly staff, clean facilities. The change rooms are co/ed. Bring 2 towels - one to sit on inside the sauna and a dry one for changing.Visited December 2022Travelled soloWritten 17 January 2023

Definitely a must do if you are in Oslo .. great way to meet locals & experience the hot/cold of the wood fired sauna & fjord swim
Easy to book online, the sauna master explained how to go about things when we got there.
Tips: take your own lock if you want to lock the lockers provided
There is a fresh water shower but no toilets
(These are already highlighted on their website & instructions) ..

Such a good experience. We went early on a Sunday, it wasn’t too busy which was nice and the team member was really helpful with walking us through what we needed to do.

Fantastic. Sauna by the Oslo fjord. Then a cooling dip in the fjord. Very excillerating. Great views of the opera house from the Langkaiai one (there are 3). This is the spa in fjord that the locals use. Started by a local swimming club & community minded folk. Best to book on line in advance. Busy times are before work & early evenings. We had sauna to ourselves at 8-30 am. Bliss.

After a stressful week I was really looking forward to having a relaxing sauna and listening to music using in ear headphones.
I carefully checked the rules (before going) and listening to music was not on the list.
I should have realised from my arrival that my experience would continue to be a bad one as I was left standing in the cold whilst the staff (obviously not trained) just continued with different chores and ignored me.
Finally I got some attention but felt very much unwelcomed. No instructions, no showing me around and only realised there were hot beverages after I saw others go for them.
I discovered there were no locks in the locker room and when I asked why was spoken to in a abrupt manner.
Finally got to switch on my music and sit with my eyes closed with my music player tucked in the towel (to avoid steam damage). The cherry on the cake was being woken and told that I could not listen to music.
I don’t expect the quality and experience of well trained smiling staff of 5 star hotel wellness centre. I did expect when I sent an email to complain 5 days ago to the owner that I would at least get an answer.

I was what is called a ‘drop-in’ on a very hot and sunny day in Oslo. I wanted to swim in the fjord, but didn’t want to fight the crowds on the beach. I was given space in the round wooden hut with a lovely sauna that looked out on the fjord. Key tip is to first go into the sauna to warm up before jumping into the fjord. I didn’t and it was pretty chilly... you can get to the top as well where there are a few seats. I jumped from the top together with a few other brave souls and that was great fun. Not sure if you should, but fun. As others have said, there isn’t a place to change, but as the saying goes ... when in Rome. Bottom line: a great experience and highly recommended.

Was a very last minute decision, but was worth it! It was very relaxing and the people were extremely friendly. Also, has a great location with a view of the opera house and the city skyline.
