Expected to see some modern art. Instead they were showing some ridiculous video installations, which I don't get.Interesting shop, toilets.

Nice, spacious galleries with some interesting paintings and other installations. We saw an excellent exhibition by someone who is inspired by Sami traditions and has worked to revive them.

You don’t need long here. It’s a good stop off for some video installation art. When we visited there were a number of short videos which held our interest. You probably won’t watch them twice. Overall I’d say it was an interesting but brief stop.

Tromsø Kunstforening is a central space for Norwegian art thanks to its curatorial team, and can be described as a Kunsthalle in an old beautiful building. I wished I had more time! Don't miss the artist run bookshop at ground floor

Interesting trilogy of movies showing but you had to be a contemporary art lover to be fully captivated. We sat through one. The 1865-built building was the original museum, has lovely big rooms & a nice view from the front.
