Small but perfect botanic gardens that is a credit to Tromso and the staff of the gardens. The site has been very well landscaped to provide 'rooms' and elevations specialising in growing and presenting different types of arctic and alpine plants.

There is not a lot of color at the end of September, though there is still some bright spots. You can see that it would be beautiful over the summer. A bit of an effort to get to from the center of Tromso.

Although nearing the end of summer, and many of the flora was starting to die off, there were some that were just coming into season and in bloom. These gardens featured plants from other same latitudinal regions around the world. They were so unique and...More

This was our last stop in Tromso. The only free place to visit. So many beautiful plants from all over the world. We took many pictures here. The plants are all tagged as to what they are and where they're from.

The Tromso Botanic Garden is a lovely refuge a short walk from the cruise pier. There is no cost to wander around, and the plants are well marked. It was fascinating to see the similarities and differences with familiar flowers.

Very accessible but quiet refuge in Tromso. Easily reached from the cruise ship pier or via the Tromso bus system. Plan to spend 1 hour or so walking through the Botanical garden. There is no entrance fee.

Amazing botanical garden. A huge range of plants and flowers from all over the world even though this garden is above the Arctic circle. A wonderful place to just wander through...even in the rain.
