An incredible array of alpines from all over the world in a thoughtfully landscaped setting over several acres - this is free entry ( though it is nice if you give a donation) - there are toilets on site too - and an incredible view...More

Not too much flowering but the garden setting is a delight. Rocky paths lead up and through the many plant beds with a stream and pool. Beautiful landscaping; would love to visit in Spring and Summer..

Small but perfect botanic gardens that is a credit to Tromso and the staff of the gardens. The site has been very well landscaped to provide 'rooms' and elevations specialising in growing and presenting different types of arctic and alpine plants.

There is not a lot of color at the end of September, though there is still some bright spots. You can see that it would be beautiful over the summer. A bit of an effort to get to from the center of Tromso.

This was our last stop in Tromso. The only free place to visit. So many beautiful plants from all over the world. We took many pictures here. The plants are all tagged as to what they are and where they're from.

The Tromso Botanic Garden is a lovely refuge a short walk from the cruise pier. There is no cost to wander around, and the plants are well marked. It was fascinating to see the similarities and differences with familiar flowers.
