The Tromso Cathedral, located in the centre of Tromsø is a unique cathedral in that it is the only Norwegian cathedral made of wood. The cathedral built in 1861 is well worth the visit. We had the pleasure of seeing it on the morning and...More

We popped in here in between other activities. It's a lovely church and worth a visit but you won't need long in there.

Some minor construction going on by the side. Well, there is this church - talk photo and walk along.

The central located Tromso Domkirke and its great architecture makes a wonderful photo subject. It was undergoing renovation during our visit but still stood proud for detail pictures.

While the age of the church is obvious from the architecture (and currently undergoing some renovations) the church is only open a couple of hours a day and unfortunately, we weren't able to see the inside during our visit. The rating is due to availability

The church is open from 1 pm to 3 pm and in the middle of the city center, so you have to visit it. It gives a good glimpse of the history and how Tromsø was 100 years ago.

If you have seen old stone churches in medieval Europe, you will be disappointed by what is nothing more than a plain old wooden church. As lacking in personality as the town.

Could only see the wooden Cathedral from outside because of all the renovation going on around the cathedral, scaffolding everywhere but when they finish it will be brilliant.

I have attended the mass in this protestant Church on Sunday. During my stay, the group of Nigerian students have displayed their talents, in singing in Yoruba language various religious songs. The mass was celebrated by female Priest.

Didn't have a chance to go inside but the outside is beautiful, especially in the snow. There was an advertisement for midday concerts but we somehow kept missing them, so ask ahead if you want to go!
