Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was nothing really special. But nice to look at. Did not go inside. Looks very neat during the day with the sun etc. Stands in the middle of the village.

Pretty cathedral in the middle of Tromso. Unless you are particularly interested in religious architecture I would say 30 mins is more than sufficient to take a look around.

There is no charge to enter, but obviously a donation to help the up-keep is welcome.

A beautiful old wooden building right in the centre of Tromso. The first time we visited was in the dark so saw it lit up amongst the beautiful snow and the lights of all the surrounding shops. It's got a great warm and welcoming feel inside and the upper balconies reminded me of some of the older churches back home in Scotland... a must visit when in Tromso.

I must admit I prefer the old school churches made of tree compare to the new ones . This one is absolutely adorable both from the outside and inside

Experiance was spoiled by attitude of P and O. Might have been nice to visit but after my trip in a blizzard to see the Northern Lights I feel that I could have done better by staying at home.

We visited the day before the annual marathon and the start/end of the race was in front of the church so it was closed for visitors. It's very nice from the outside and the pictures of the inside are nice as well.

Tromso's actual cathedral (NOT the Arctic Cathedral across Tromso Bridge in Tromsdalen) was buit in the 19th century and is wooden. It's only open for the casual visitor on Tuesday, but is well worth dropping into - it's on Church Square in the heart of Tromso's downtown.

I love visiting old churches and this is definately up there. So different. The organist was practising when we were there so make it all the more special.

To enter the Cathedral they charge AU$10pp. It is OK, but there is little more to see that cannot be seen from outside. not worth the money but after you hike across the bridge to it you feel that you are there and should go in. Best avoid

Picturesque setting with snow and dark blue skies in winter. Very helpful and hospitable deaconess who told us the history of the Church, the only timber cathedral in Norway. Beautiful interior with its timber structures. Not to be missed.
