I have booked my trip to Tromso from 23 Nov to 29 Nov. May I know if I have better chance to see the northern light?
Potentially, in Northern Norway, you can always see Northern Lights as long as you have these 3 basic conditions:
1. Darkness - Never really a problem from mid-September to late March
2. Clear Sky - Not predictable unless with quite short advance
3. Activity in the Atmosphere - As unpredictable as the weather
Our tour is a "chase", which means that we do not go to the same place every day, but our guides decide where to go to find the best conditions possible. This means that some times we drive to the Finnish border, sometimes we stay at the coast - it all depends on the weather and the guide`s decision that
particular day.
About the forecast:
When we make a forecast, we only talk about tonight and tomorrow. Anything that we say about the day after tomorrow is more a guess than a real serious forecast. It is therefore very difficult to estimate right now, how the chances to see the northern lights will be during your stay.
Please note that two things we can not promise:
1. If the conditions are good, we can not promise that you will see Northern Lights.
2. If the conditions are bad ... we can not promise that you will not see Northern Lights :-)
Aurora Borealis is a phenomen dependant on highly random conditions.
See you in Tromsø :)
