We chanced upon this beach on our first day of holiday - and returned for every beach day of the trip. Man made, with sand and boardwalk, high quality loungers and parasols with electronic lockers. There are different price points to suit your needs - towels included/cushioned or non cushioned lounger etc. It’s directly in front of a safe area of sea with large rocky wave breakers, so is picturesque and perfect for breaking up the day lounging with lots of swimming! The guy running the beach is super polite and friendly. I would 100% recommend this beach if you are heading to paphos for a break.

Alykes Beach is a small area with sun loungers for hire situated on the promenade. It’s simple in that it offers only sun loungers, with each pair of loungers coming with a large fixed parasol to give shade. Each pair also comes with a lock box to place personal items when away from the loungers. The lock box is opened with a waterproof digital key. Loungers in the front row also come with towels - towels can be hired for all other rows.

A small selection of soft and alcoholic drinks can be purchased from the person running the beach.

Three of us used the loungers on several days during our stay - a number of loungers are grouped into threes. The guy running the beach was polite and helpful and the cost was low. As each pair of loungers comes with a parasol, we paid for three loungers and a parasol and the total cost was less than 15€ per day.

The location of Alykes is great, situated at the waterfront with beach showers, changing rooms and toilets 1 min away. Access to the sea is right at Alykes. Facilities including water-sports and restaurants are all no more than 2 mins away.

Special note on the guy running the beach. I left my AirPods in the lock box and hadn’t noticed. The guy found these, kept them safe and even tried to help me find them through the iOS Find My app. When he next saw me, he told me he had my AirPods and reunited me with them.

If you want to get hustled go here. The items are priced individually, but i was told i had to purchase everything on the board to have a bed! When i questioned this the guy said oops sorry the price of the bed is actually €1 more! and then he said if you dont want the bed somone else will.

Friday 14th October and we were walking along Paphos Promenade and we visited this beach

It is located at the opposite end of the Bay from the Harbour, a bit further along from the Municipal Beach.

It is a purpose built man-made beach, the walled in golden sand area, is across the promenade from the sea.

It was possible to hire sunbeds here, €2.50 each, umbrellas €2.50, towels €2.50 each. It was also possible to hire a safe deposit box, yes you have guessed it, for €2.50.

It did appear to be bit compact with the beds rather close to each other, not much personal space.

There are a number of bars and restaurants around and visitors can get drinks served at their sunbeds.

The bathing area is protected by two man-made promentaries of rock and stone, which forms a lagooon. This provided a safe and calm place to swim. Access to the sea was down several sets of steps from the promenade or alteternativelty across the rocky headland.

The wall running along the top of the bathing area was covered in graffiti made the area look a bit tatty

While most visitors used the Beach facilities, others chose to spread out on the rocks by the water's edge rather than use the sandy bit the other side of the Promenade.

Nearby there were a number of purpose built permanent shower cubicle as well as changing kiosks.

Just down the promenade from the beach there were some permanent exercise equipment.

From here there were views across the Bay to the Harbour and Paphos Castle within it.

This was for us the best beach around. Close to our apartment, and comfortable sun beds, parasol, and a safe box. This cost 10 euros a day, which from our experience is not very expensive. We have payed much more than that for less on other destinations. The beach itself is quite rocky but in front of these facilities there was a nice lagoon that prevented big waves to enter and a small area of sand that made it easy to go for a swim. Water is very clear, and warm. The staff working at Alykes Beach is attentive and helpful. You can also order drinks from you sun bed.

I’m a single traveller and asked to use one sunbed. I was told I would have to purchase 2 sunbeds and an umbrella at the cost of 9 euros. This is despite sunbeds being advertised at cost of 2.50 euros. This is extremely discriminatory against single travellers. Staff are also extremely rude!

Amazing beach view, sun beds are really nice and are being cleaned and sanitized constantly. You also get an electronic safe when you pay for the sun beds.

Lovely beach, went there multiple times during my stay in Paphos! It is just a little bit further from the municipal beach. I found it better than the municipal beach due to the direct access to the sand and sea, less rocks, more sand. There was a water hose working as a shower, for free. Perfect. Some sunbeds were available but I prefer to just use a towel and stay the whole time inside the water. Beautiful sunsets!

Set in the harbour area and adjacent to the municipal baths beach this is a really nice place to chill.

If you love sunbeds and sun with the sound of the sea crashing into walls then this is the place.

Good amenities with toilets near by and a vast array of restaurants for a lazy lunch.

You can even get drinks served to your bed.

Very comfortable beds with large mattresses priced at 2.50 a bed / parasol

A lot better than SODAP Beach
