Altstadt Vianden is located on the hill top away from city center. Despite that you need to walk up the steep road in order to reach the castle, you can secure nice views from above,

A wonderfully well kept Castle, High lying above the Little Town, Many old artifact and decorated with original items of the castle, A very good idea for a scroll and some history.I would recommend it.

it's a nice stroll from the riverbank up to the castle, even if it is rather steep and all along the road and the traffic. but it offers some nice views on the castle. go for it.

Vianden is a quaint town in northern Luxembourg with an old center, a beautiful square and, above all, a castle on the top of the hill, visible from nearly everywhere. It's nice and peaceful, not too many tourists - at least in the first half...More

The beautiful rooms in the castle and the views make the uphill walk from the town worthwhile. It is quite cheap to visit the castle too. Allow at least an hour for your visit. There is a nice cafe and souvenir shop inside the castle....More

As you approach Vianden the stunning chateau on the hilltop instantly catches your eye. The village below is also very pretty, with splendid riverside walks and plenty of attractive shops and restaurants. To be honest, we didn’t really know what to expect of this area,...More

We spent several days driving around Luxembourg and we were always happy to return to our little gem, Vianden. You can walk a mile along the river. You can walk trails up to the top of the facing hill. There are a half dozen good...More

The Castle was remarkable restoration project. My hat is off to the workers and archaeologists that put the hours into returning this wonderful piece of history back to some of it's previous glory. It is worth a visit... The staff on the other hand need...More
