Clean, well located, not too busy and with fantastic walks nearby. There is so much to do if you like nature and exploring it. It is also home of so many different birds. Plus you can still see fish in the water, little ones around...More

Let’s start with the Pier which was built in 1888 and is heritage listed. Popular with anglers who regularly visit. On the weekend I watched someone hook a ray but unfortunately, it 'got away'. The pier is 300m long. The western side of the pier...More

Excellent, clean & cridpy air sea side experience. Family friendly beach; at times busy depending on weather; with ample roadside parking. Just watch out as this is pedestrian, cyclists & vehicles shared place. Have seen some minor road accidents here. Toilets are clean too. Restaurants...More

We moved to Altona 4 years ago and live walking distance to the beach. There's a nice pier but nobody catches any fish there but the beach has nice sand and it's week located near to cafes. Highly recommended

Great to walk along the walkways, lovely views well maintained. A walk on the pier is also good followed by quick coffee or meal at the many cafes. Numero UNO is always good

Beautiful clean beach, bike tracks, dog beach and walking trails. Not forgetting the shopping strip right at the beach and the varied range of cafes and restaurants. You cannot visit Altona without a visit to Hangar 1one2. Best coffee and food in town.

No booking required at all. And you are allowed to take your own food and drinks if you wish to do a picnic as well. There are very clean public toilets available and shops if you rather eat out while there.
