After thoroughly researching the plethora of tours offered in Reykjavik, we decided on booking with Back to Iceland Travel for two tours: Golden Circle and South Coast. We really couldn’t be happier with this decision! We had such an amazing experience with our wonderful guide Anton on both tours! He was very accommodating and really going out of his way to make sure that we get the most of the tours despite the rather difficult weather conditions. We learned a ton of interesting information about Iceland and the places we visited, we never felt rushed at any of the stops, and yet everything was planned in such a way that we got to see everything in the short daylight time that there is in January here. Anton is an excellent guide and an excellent driver (we were going through blizzard conditions at several points and it never felt unsafe). He even was checking for us the norther lights forecast while we were at the stops and ultimately suggested and booked for us a tour for northern lights last minute and with a great tour company (we got to see the lights while others on other tours didn’t as we later found out).
The Golden Circle tour included a couple of really cool stops that others don’t do: the tomato farm and restaurant (unforgettable Bloody Mary !!), the ice cream farm and shop, the Icelandic horses, and a few more.
On the South Coast tour, despite the rough weather, we managed to make all the planned stops, and it was absolutely wonderful. And again, really impressed with the skillful driving in the weather that we got on the day!
I highly recommend this company if you’re looking for a group tour that really feels more like a private one.

We just completed the Reykjanes Peninsula Tour with airport transfer. We were a group of 6 with a private vehicle which was very comfortable. This was a fantastic option for a morning before an afternoon flight. The company was communicative and responsive to our needs and questions prior to booking. The tour guide was on time and ensured that we were dropped off at the airport on time, while still taking our interests and needs into consideration. During the tour we were able to visit the President's house, Blue Lagoon, hot springs, lighthouse, as well as the bridge between continents. If you have a few hours before a flight, I highly recommend this tour as an option for exploring more of what Iceland has to offer.

I can't possibly say enough about Back to Iceland travel and wish I could give more than 5 stars! We used BTI in 2019 for our airport transfer and had such a good experience we decided to use them again for our December 2022 trip. This time around we booked with them transfers from the airport to our hotel, our hotel to the Retreat Hotel, and a private tour taking us to the Christmas markets around Reykjavik. Their prices are very reasonable and they went above and beyond our expectations!
Even though we landed in the middle of a blizzard on Saturday, December 17th, Anton was there to pick us up and even told us to go to a different entrance to minimize dragging our luggage through the snow. He got us safely to Reykjavik before the road was closed stranding a lot of people at the airport.
The following day, his wife Vida picked us up for our Christmas market tour. She was wonderful, easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. She managed to get us to the two markets we wanted to visit despite the poor road conditions at the time. She also helped us with our many shopping bags and gave some input on the various vendors. She even took us on a walk through the Christmas decorations at Hellisgerði Park.
A couple of days later, the roads were still closed on the morning we were scheduled to transfer to the Retreat Hotel at the Blue Lagoon. Vida kept us updated with regular emails on the status of the road conditions which we appreciated. As soon as the road to the Blue Lagoon opened that afternoon, Vida was ready to pick us up 30 minutes later. The roads were still not in great shape - drifting snow, cars abandoned on the side of the road in snow drifts, white out conditions at times, but she got us to the Retreat without incident only an hour or so after our original itinerary. She drove through it all like a pro and we felt perfectly safe in her care.
The next time we travel to Iceland (and there will be many more times) we will be booking with BTI and I've already been recommending them to people whenever I can. Thank you again for everything!

We had high expectations when we booked the Private South Coast & Jokulsarlon Glacier Tour, based on the unusually engaging descriptions of the stops on the itinerary. And we were not disappointed! Our guide, Anton, picked us up on time and whisked us away for an unforgettable day of glorious scenery and unique experiences. Throughout our journey, he shared an interesting array of facts, insights into Icelandic life, and witticisms to hold our attention during the longer drives, and ensured there were plenty of restroom/snack stops along the way. We never felt rushed and were impressed that Anton managed to get us to most of the popular stops ahead of the crowds. The flexibility of the private tour enabled us to explore several delightful spots in addition to those advertised on the itinerary. We highly recommend this tour for any couple or family seeking an AMAZING way to experience the best that Iceland’s South Coast has to offer! Thank you, Anton!

We were greeted at the airport by Anton. He is such a friendly man who was super informative about the culture, sites and cuisine of Reykjavík! The bus was super clean and very comfortable. Our journey to the city was so quick as we were engaged in such an interesting conversation with anton!
We used this service to go to the blue lagoon as well and once again the lady driver was perfectly on time and so friendly. We asked the lady if we could change our-pick up location for our return to the airport and this was no bother at all.
Brilliant service, friendly professional drivers and perfect time keepers. Great price as well! Would highly recommend!

We used BTI travel for airport transfers for a large family and found them to very flexible, good communicators and provide excellent service. More expensive than a bus, but after 30hrs of flights from Australia it was worth it to minimise wait time and get dropped off at the door.
We booked BTI travel for a transfer from Keflavik to Reykjavik via Blue Lagoon for 5 people. The day before our trip the Blue Lagoon closed due to seismic activity. A quick phone call to BTI and they agreed to take us via Sky Lagoon instead. Then on the day of our arrival 2 or our group were delayed by 6 hrs due to airline issues, so Anton from BTI took 3 of us to Sky Lagoon and then returned to the airport to pick up the rest of our party later. Great service! Felt like we had our own personal limo driver.

Although our trip to Iceland (cruise) was cancelled and we sadly had to cancel our day with Back to Iceland ... I wanted to write a brief review.
Wife and I are both in the US travel industry and have highest regards for the fast, informative, and professionalism that we experienced.
When we were forced to cancel the refund credit was processed fast (received next day) in full and without hassle.
They will be the ONLY company we will re-book with in our return plans for 2021

If we could give 10 stars, we absolutely would. Back to Iceland FAR exceeded our expectations with their outstanding service, friendliness, and level of knowledge. What started as a simple airport transfer became an informative and entertaining experience and we arrived at our hotel in Reykjavik before we knew it. Anton was thoughtful and helpful in getting us as close to the hotel as possible. For our return trip, he was on time and continued his interesting discussion about all things Iceland and his experience becoming a citizen of this amazing country. Most importantly, when we ran into an unexpected complication at the airport, he came to the rescue! He returned to pick us up, got us to the covid testing site (yes this is still required to re-enter the US, although the airline did not communicate it) waited with us until we received our results (great wifi in the bus!), and got us back in the nick of time to check in. Our hero!! We wish we had booked other tours with Back to Iceland during our stay, and definitely will on our next visit. THANK YOU, Anton!

From our pickup at the airport during a nasty storm to our drop off back to the airport, our driver and guide Anton made our week long visit easy, stressless and fun. Anton was always punctual, polite and very informative with lots of interesting facts and stories to share. As a team Vida (who does the bookings) and Anton provided us with a personal and local perspective of the beautiful country of Iceland. Our family took the private Golden Circle day tour and we were able to customize the day with our own itinerary including the geothermal rye bread making- could not have been a better experience. Anton made the whole experience amazing and the communication and instructions from the company were always clear and concise. I would definitely recommend this company for your Iceland tours and airport transfers and look forward to using BTI again when I return.

I used BTI for an airport transfer. There was a small discount for booking online, making it cheaper than other options. The driver was professional and in fact early for my 3am pick up, I would definitely use this company again in future travels!

Hello, I am planning to book an airport transfer directly to my bnb in Reykjavik. I saw on the map that the address of my bnb is within the "forbidden zone" map. The closest stop is #8. Will I be dropped off at the bus stop or is it possible to be dropped off in front of my bnb?

I'm staying at the skuggi hotel are you able to drop off directly in front of skuggi hotel ? Or would I be dropped off somewhere else?
Also we have early morning reservations at the blue lagoon. for the minibus kef to blue lagoon to Reykjavik once I arrive would we leave right away for the blue lagoon or would we have to wait for other passengers?

We just 9-21seats buses.At the airport depending situation can need to wait up to 30 minutes if we have more passengers from the same flight or flight arrive at the same time.
