An interesting ferry ride, and a scenic island to explore. Best to give the restaurant a miss, unless it's just for coffee and cake etc. The restaurant itself is pleasant, and window tables afford nice views, but the meals are truly horrible. My toasted sandwich...More

I thoroughly enjoyed the ferry to the island. You get a map and walk to the various locations. The Peace Tower, a small church next to the main house (the house has a cafe) an old school that now is a museum, and the village...More

Easy trails on a beautiful island where you still find some loneliness and nice photo motives you get as well in touch with the island's history and on top reward yourself after your walk with a unique soda on the terrace of the restaurant.

It was fun to take the ferry from the Old Harboer to Videy and have a couple hours to walk beautiful paths and learn about its former village. The small tea room provided a refreshing stop before we caught the ferry back from this now-protected...More

... and a world away. Nice peaceful environment to visit, if it’s a nice day. Annual peace festival featuring the “haunting “ lyrics of Yoko Ono. I’d prefer not to be haunted, but the Island is tranquil and quiet, yet close to the city.

Videy Island is a lovely spot to spend the day walking around. There's not a lot on the island, so main attraction is the hiking and a nice picnic opportunity. Unfortunately some of the walking paths are surrounded by high grass and unless you are...More

Videy is a lovely retreat not far from the centre of Reykjavik. A network of paths around the island encompass the range sights which include an abandoned village, a little church and many natural wonders. An array of birds and plants can be seen around...More

No. There are no cars AT ALL. Which makes the island really peaceful. There are very clearly marked walking paths. It is a bit windy so make sure to bring hat/ear protection.

Go to old harbor. There are a few ferries there and you can ask for their times. To be honest I don't know if there are any that go regularly during the winter. Call or email Elding. They're located on the harbor and they... More

There are two spots to get a ferry to Videy. One is at the old harbour, right in the city centre and another one next to the industrial port that is very near to the island. So probably if you get the ferry at the old... More
