We took the ferry with the Reykjavik city card. The views for the city and mountains were fantastic. There were only a few other people on the island while we were there. After walking around the island, we stopped for a coffee at the cafe.

Came here 10/9. John Lennons birthday. The peace memorial is lit on this day. It was cold, windy and rainy, but I loved every minute of it. Will always have this memory whenever I hear Imagine.

Walking around Videy Island was one of the highlights of my trip. The island is quite large and I spent much more time there than I originally anticipated but I thoroughly enjoyed every minute! The trail around the island is not strenuous at all and...More

An interesting ferry ride, and a scenic island to explore. Best to give the restaurant a miss, unless it's just for coffee and cake etc. The restaurant itself is pleasant, and window tables afford nice views, but the meals are truly horrible. My toasted sandwich...More

I thoroughly enjoyed the ferry to the island. You get a map and walk to the various locations. The Peace Tower, a small church next to the main house (the house has a cafe) an old school that now is a museum, and the village...More

Easy trails on a beautiful island where you still find some loneliness and nice photo motives you get as well in touch with the island's history and on top reward yourself after your walk with a unique soda on the terrace of the restaurant.

It was fun to take the ferry from the Old Harboer to Videy and have a couple hours to walk beautiful paths and learn about its former village. The small tea room provided a refreshing stop before we caught the ferry back from this now-protected...More

It's quite a walk. It's easy to get to the water (maybe a mile), but winding through the industrial port takes a while. I would give yourself 45 min -1 hr.

No. There are no cars AT ALL. Which makes the island really peaceful. There are very clearly marked walking paths. It is a bit windy so make sure to bring hat/ear protection.

Go to old harbor. There are a few ferries there and you can ask for their times. To be honest I don't know if there are any that go regularly during the winter. Call or email Elding. They're located on the harbor and they... More
