Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We did the Golden Circle & Secret Lagoon Private Tour with Reykjavik Outventure, and it was an absolutely spectacular experience.
Right from the start, we were struck by the beauty of the places we visited. Þingvellir National Park, the majestic Gullfoss waterfall and the Geysirs geothermal area left us marvelling at every stop. Each place had its own unique atmosphere.
Our guide was a real treasure. With his experience and knowledge, he not only took us to the best places, but also told us fascinating stories about Iceland's history and culture. His explanations made all the difference, adding an extra dimension to our adventure. I highly recommend the Golden Circle & Secret Lagoon Private Tour by Reykjavik Outventure to any group of friends who want to explore Iceland in an authentic and memorable way. It was a journey that will remain etched in our hearts forever.

Worth booking. They picked us up at our hotel promptly in a sprinter van our first night in Iceland. Michael our guide was fantastic. We were worried since it was raining that the clouds would prevent us from seeing the northern lights. He took us to a remote area in the fjords and he would call other guides to see where and what direction to see it. Luckily he found it. If i went out myself i dont think we would be able to, since it starts off small and then starts to become more noticeable. Best of all he really knew how to take beautiful photos. My kids also loved getting hot chicolate and cinnamon buns.
Such a memorable experience. Thank u!!!

We did this tour on our first night in town. It was cloudy so we were told chances of seeing the lights were low ; but Ionut (John) kept search and around midnight we found the most spectacular display. It lasted about 20 mins and we felt so lucky bc the next day the tour was cancelled for those going due to weather conditions. We were so excited - made our entire trip.

Balcan was great. Very friendly. He found places with great Northern Light views and on the way back made an extra stop because the lights were coming back. This last stop was the best. Thanks Balcan!

This tour was fantastic. Arni was both knowledgeable and hilarious which made for such a fun night. We were out until about 2 AM - I've never been so happy to be so cold and tired. I heard from a few other people who went on other tours that same night that they didn't see anything, but Arni knew exactly where to take us and told us what to look for. Highly recommend them!!

LOVED IT! LOVED IT! LOVED IT!

BJ was an amazing guide and terrific dispenser of hot chocolate and the world's best cinnamon rolls!

I was also surprised and pleased that the photos provided also included a video of the Northern Lights to show how dynamic they are.

We saw the lights - not because we joined the tour but most of it because of luck - clouds, kp index. They were very flexible and allowed us to change to a clear day after we saw the weather forecast - a plus. The pick-up were chaotic (but all of the others as well) - we basically waited at the bus stop#9 from 2030 until 2120 in the cold without any information, eta, anybody to help. Then the minibus came, and it needed to pick up some more people on the way. Then there's the info about the light and we were drove to Thingvellir and stopped at one spot for viewing. You are then basically free roam at the small car park and take pictures. Mostly you are seeing cloud-ish things in the sky which was amazing. The colour was picked up mostly via your camera. They took photos for you but it is very quick and long q - you need to stand still ~20s and prayed a) you don't move and b) no one walk by you and c) the lighting is good (once the guide pressed the button, he wandered off for another camera). Then the whole thing finished around 1.5 hrs and you were back in the van with some cinnamon bun and hot chocolate. They dropped you off the same spot around 1115 ish and you needed to request the photos by sending them the email. The next day they would send you a google drive where you can download the photos. BUT - they have lost our photo. They offered us to join the tour again instead of looking harder. Anyways It took the next five days to liaise with them to finally get the photo back. Thank you to them but it shouldn't be this hard at the first place. By the way you should not expect they are very attending to take your photos as there quite a lot of people...anyways long story short - its okay to join if the weather is not good and you do not have a car. otherwise I would do it myself...at least it won't feel rush and also the anxiety of the possibility of a lost photo...

It was an amazing experience. We did it twice as we didn't see the lights on our first try. Our guides that night, Palli and Ludvig tried hard enough to chase them, but it was just too cloudy the first night. On our second attempt, Guffi was our guide. He was so good at what he was doing as he was providing the group with pertinent information about the lights while driving. He stopped at a decent location as he received information that the lights will be on a heightened activity in the next couple of minutes so as not to be missed. Hence, we indeed saw the lights!
We highly recommend Reykjavik Outventure as tour operator when choosing a northen lights excursion. This company delivered and went over and beyond for us to have a fantastic experience. Thank you so much, and a big shout-out to Guffi!
