The museum was opened in 1904 on the top of the hill. The Art Nouveau building is one of the city's most recognizable landmarks and an attraction in itself. The comprehensive art collection includes works from the late 1800's to the early 1900's.

A majestic looking building heading towards Turku downtown. In the permanent collection there are paintings of some most famous Finnish artists like Schjerfbeck, Edelfeldt, Gallen-Kallela and many others. In the changing exhibition I saw impressionistic paintings by three local artists from the early years of...More

This art museum features mainly Finnish paintings and sculptures, including Turku local art. At the moment of my visit there's an exhibition about three Turku based impressionist artists. Museum is not very big, 1 hour should suffice.

Turku Art Museum is well worth a visit if only for the views it offers from the hill it's situated. The building is old and lovely. The art collections are spread on several floors, and the permanent collection is really quite good. The café is...More

A very nice place in the middle of the town, silent and a nice place to relax in the enclosed little area. The beautiful historcial building is adapted with modern technical stuff, so Art-Exhibitions can be done very beautiful.
