The basement is an archeological dig/museum and the upper floor is a contemporary art museum. The art museum was a good size for a quick visit but the basement stole the show for me. It showcases three brick/stone medieval residences with displays exhibiting artifacts from...More

A historical museum built around archaelogical excavations showing how people lived hundreds of years ago in this town. Interesting details found in the excavations and instructive information boards on the walls. Nice café and good museum shop.

This place is two museums in one! Downstairs, there are medieval ruins and exhibits on historic Finland, and upstairs you'll find a modern art gallery, and a river runs right through the building, which makes for an amazing café in between the two museum areas!...More

In this museum you can see the ruins and things found in medieval Turku – and then see modern art, too. There is nice museum shop (I always find something to buy) and good cafe, too. Peaceful and nice place indeed.

A great museum to take the kids or grandchildren. Exhibits make an effort to make it exciting and educational for children. It can get a bit rowdy when there are a lot of kids around but an interesting place to visit.
