We were already fascinated by Mannerheim's history however we didn't expect the museum to be SO interesting. The English speaking guide was engaging and informative. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and the insight into his professional and private life in his very own home. Highly...More

I didn't know much about Mr. Mannerheim (pronounced Mannerhaim) but my wife did. This house was really nice and the tour was really interesting. You can only take private tours but it is included with the admission price. The house is located in a beautiful...More

This is the home of an historically important person. The museum only allows guests that accompany a guide. The guides take many tours per hour so don’t hesitate to go here. Just be prepared to wait a little bit. There is one rather undfriendly, not...More

Before traveling to Finland, I read a biography of Mannerheim, so was fascinated to see where he lived and to hear more about him. The English tour guide was excellent, and stayed after the tour to answer a lot of our questions

This is the contemporary art museum in Helsinki. It is a bit far out for us, but interesting to see what they consider art.

Stumbled on this place almost by accident after a stroll round park and seafront. It is listed in most guide books and is worth a visit. Mannerheim led an interesting life and led the way for Finnish Independence. Warning- he was also a hunter, which...More

If you have an interest in Mannerheim then this is the place for you. This museum is free with your Helsinki card, otherwise you will pay 12 euros each. It is not far from the centre but we had difficulty locating it. A local resident...More

For those who are interested in 1900-century history, this is a must. Guided tours in several languages (Finnish, Swedish, English and other European languages, good to call there before and check the availability). A very masculine, nice, interesting, beautiful house and home by the sea...More

As Mikko said, about 10 mins from the terminal. I clearly walk slower than he does :) It is uphill. Take your map, there is no significant signposting!
