Whilst in the old town check the church out. The church has a Summer Cafe located in the grounds where you can get inexpensive tea and coffees along with bakery items

Located in Old Town and a convenient walk from our hotel. The Old German Church is the most impressive reminder of the influence of Germans in medieval Stockholm. The spire of the church marks the highest point in Gamla Stan, Stockholm's Old Town. A nice...More

I would not make a special journey to see this, but if you are in the Old Town it's a charming church to go to, with a fine interior. Also concerts some evenings.

Tyska Kyrka is a beautiful church located in Stockholm, which has a nice facade and it is possible visit the inner part. An interesting visit if you are in the zone. In the average.

With its tall spire this church is quite a landmark in Gamla Stan. The interior can be seen without charge, though signage indicates that it would cost 30 SEK to explore the inside. It's worth having a look at the decorative altar and other features...More

St Gertrud's Church (colloquially the German Church) boasts a 96m tower and a very fine interiour. The magnificent gilt church organ is a replica of the original organ as it looked in the 1680ies. Admire the Kings's Gallery, pulpit and altar. Admission is free.

We visited this church, you can see the church spire from just about anywhere around the Old Town. Inside was nice, but not spectacular. After stepping inside, we could see enough of the church that there seemed to be little point in paying the admission...More

This catches your attention when you're walking around Gamla Stan and is very impressive from the outside. You can walk into the church for free but if you want to look around it costs around 30 SEK. The inside is very ornate but after having...More

Okay exterior, we just did the free side of the pay version of the church..... so ... that said, interesting interior and beautiful windows... bit of my frustration with Old Town Stockholm was the fees to see things - including this church....

I was expecting a somewhat austere interior so as not to distract from the word of god. I was greatly surprised by what I found. The windows are large and provide a light and airy interior. The stained glass is vibrant. The pulpit, alter and...More

Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home
to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central
island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small
island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous
Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit
touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting:
take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and
through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest)
