Overview
More
The Hampton VIC is an Accredited Visitor Information Centre. Its role is to assist visitors and locals to discover the natural beauty of the Crows Nest - Highfields District. Visitors can find information on local attractions, national parks, lakes and maps for the region. They can also purchase local produce and browse the historic building which is over 100 years old. It was donated by the Reushle family who immigrated to Australia in 1888 and settled in the Ravensbourne area in 1894. The family occupied the home and land until Christian Reushle’s death in 1986. He had lived in the home without electricity or running water until this time. The centre is located in Chapman Park, a lovely spot to stop for a picnic or overnight camp.

I've seen many info centres and this is the best I've experienced. The info at hand, the volunteers who are interested, engaging and knowledgeable, and the clean, tidy amenities and free camping next-door... well, what more could you ask for?!

Met two very nice ladies there. Advised us what 4 wheel drive tracks there are and advised us which ones would be suitable for our vehicle.

Great visitor information centre for Hampton and Ravensbourne. Run by locals. Location for the Hampton Food and Arts Festival each year. Nice work Hampton! Food available across the road.

You can just turn up. :-) There is a store across the road and also a restaurant, or 12 minutes further north is Crows Nest, which has fuel and an IGA, takeaway, couple of cafes, and pub, amongst other shops.
