Mamaku Blue Blueberry farm grow the finest blueberries and gooseberries in the Bay of Plenty Region and are famous for their delicious blueberry juice. Dedicated to creating the highest quality foods, wines and other products, Mamaku Blue also offer quality gooseberry products, wines, liqueur, sauces, jams, ice cream and chocolates which you can purchase online. Mamaku Blue also offer an insight into NZ rural life through their "Blueberry Experience" farm and pack-house tours. Within each tour you will have the chance to sample their fantastic products, as well as learn about their famous blueberries and the many benefits you can receive from these "little globes of health." HACCP accredited orchard facilities, tasting, and much more. Mamaku Blue Blueberry Experience is a family owned and operated business, built from scratch on the good old "Kiwi number 8 wire innovation."

Fun day out

Interesting little spot, took the toddler out there for a fun day with friends. Ice cream and pancakes delicious. Donkey rides, jumpy castle and fire truck. Cold day out there but kids had fun. Would love to try blueberry juice and wine. Might have to visit again when not that busy.

We called in for lunch which we thoroughly enjoyed on a wintery day. The venison and lamb pies were very nice. A good selection of blueberry and gooseberry wines, jams and pickles were available for purchase.

Delicious gf blueberry muffin

The best blueberry muffins both gf and non gf.
A further highlight was meeting the 2x rescue donkeys and giving them a scratch.
I would love to return and sample the venison and blueberry pie.

Lovely place - ice cream real blueberries omg so worth the trip - stocked up on our chutneys and jams and blueberries - was greeted by the lovely owner who is so lovely - so worth a visit

Good juice, less than stellar staff

We came here 3 yrs ago on our honeymoon and my husband fell in love with their fresh blueberry ice cream and I loved their blueberry juice so we had to come back. The service we received this time was a bit awkward. We did not get a warm welcome and the woman working was not very social. We felt uncomfortable talking this time around. The blueberry juice and blueberry ice cream were still as good as we remembered but our service this time was less than perfect. There was only one other couple in the shop when we came and we tried some of the liquors with them but felt weird about even asking to do the tastings.

Best ice cream

We stopped in on our way to Rotorua (seen a sign)
with the children for lunch and a real fruit ice cream.
Food was yummy
Staff were helpful and welcoming
Loved that we got to speak with the owners.

Wonderful find off the beaten track!

We ventured off the main highway following the Blueberry signage unsure of what we would find.
We found a delightful hidden gem stocked with a wide variety of blueberry jams, chutneys, sauces and wine.
This tourist stop was presented for the discerning traveller and world class in its presentation.
Only too sorry that we did not have time to do a tour of the orchard and stop in the cafe for morning tea.
Service was first class and we were made to feel very welcome.
Prices were very competitive and a lot less than expected!
Make a detour and be pleasantly surprised!
