Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

I booked a private tour for myself and my 14-year-old son for today as I didn't want to hold back other guests if we were too rusty or didn't want to go for a full three hours. We haven't ridden bikes in a very long time. It came back to me "like riding a bike" :), but my son was struggling and not feeling comfortable or in control. In my head, I was questioning if it was safe for him to wobble around with all of the cars and other cyclists zipping about. Mike took control and tried to work with my son, but it was obvious it was not going to be a safe situation. I was nearly in tears thinking about how embarrassed my son was going to be, but whatever Mike did and said to him made him feel ok about canceling the trip. Mike graciously gave me the money back for the tour although we took up a time slot for someone else and refused to accept a tip! He also gave my son a replica mini bike as a parting gift.
On the walk back to the hotel, instead of seeing tears, or getting a "teen attitude" (which I was fully expecting since he was not keen on going on the bike tour to begin with), he told me he wants to practice and come back and try it again one day. He actually mentioned that the weather ended up really nice for a bike ride and it would have been fun and he was disappointed - I was so shocked. This is a testament to the character that Mike displayed. Not only was he caring enough to make sure his riders were safe, he treated my son in a way that made him feel good about himself. In the short time we spent with Mike, he was very engaging and I know we would have had a lot of fun touring about.
So, although we didn't get to see more of Copenhagen today, I can highly recommend Bike Copenhagen with Mike!

Toured Dec. 2022.
Discovered Mike while watching Travel Man. We decided to book with him amongst a bevy of bike tours. So glad we did! We showed up a little early and Mike recommended we go to the bakery down the street. This just happened to be the original and oldest bakery in Copenhagen, Sankt Peder's Bakery. Not a bad place to waste a few minutes.
The tour went through the city and hit many of the top attractions. His pace was easy and stopped often to provide his knowledgeable insights into Copenhagen history. He shared stories, jokes, recommendations and anecdotes. He's done this before because he perfectly timed our stop for a coffee with the changing of the royal guard as they marched past us.
This is a must do activity in Copenhagen. I would recommend doing this shortly after arriving because you get an overview of the city and can better determine where you want to spend your time. For example, we rode to the mermaid. Took a picture and was able to take this off our list saving us from having to work it in the next day.

In Copenhagen the first time and for only 3 nights, Mike's bike tour was the ideal way for history nut dad and action man teen son to get a handle on Copenhagen in one entertaining, freewheeling afternoon. Mike says there is no key bit of the city you cannot access by bike in 15 minutes, and 3 hours with a welcome street food break packed in all the main sights with ease. Mike is an amusing speaker who stops every 10 minutes or so to deliver an information-packed yet informal description of the sight just reached, from the Royal Palace, to Hans Christian Andersen's Nyhavn home to the Little Mermaid herself. Even better are the social insights, which invite bikers discreetly and hilariously into an aspect of the Danish psyche that foreigners might not otherwise have guessed at. For all his incisive wit Mike truly loves his nation's inclusive ethos, and meanwhile imparts gold dust recommendations about affordable eateries along the route. If we'd done his tour on our first not our last day we'd have tried some! The one criticism that chimed from other comments is that he starts speaking as soon as he hits the ground at the next sight, so arrivals from the back of the line can miss the first limpid sentence or two. I didn't mind that because you still get plenty of info but it pays to ride your bike right up to where he's standing when you stop, rather than hovering politely off the back of the group.

We investigated a variety of bike tours and booked with Mike - we would highly recommend! Mike is an incredibly knowledgable guide and also had a great sense of humour. You get to see all key highlights on this tour (which is great if you’re coming to the City for a couple of days), but Mike also points out lesser known areas / facts that only locals know of. We enjoyed this more than anything else we did whilst in the city!

Do this bike tour first! Seeing CPH with a native who knows and loves it is the best way to get to know a city. Mike doesn't just tell you the history, like a set of facts, but explains how that bit informs you of who the Danish people are and how they think. It's next level. By the time it's finished you can't help but see and love the city as Mike does. Thank you!

Our tour with Mike was the best part of our trip to Copenhagen. Funny, kind and knowledgeable Mike will show you everything you need to know about this beautiful city. We went just before Christmas and had a fabulous time, the tour is a good pace without being too much for people who aren’t used to riding bikes. Mike knows so much about the interesting history of Copenhagen and gives great recommendations for the rest of your trip like cafes, restaurants, galleries etc. Worth every penny, if you are planning a trip then this is the only tour you need, I can’t speak more highly of our experience! Thanks Mike!

Really enjoyable ride through a large number of points of interest in Copenhagen. We were a group of six within a larger group of about 15 and Mike made sure we cycled at the right pace. The stories and history were very enjoyable. Even my 13 year old didn’t get bored. Would definitely recommend.

After considerable research on bike tours in Copenhagen , I selected Bike Mike for a private tour (we were 9 people ranging in age from early 20s to 70).
As agreed, Mike met us at our hotel on time and patiently waited for us to get our bikes ready. He gave us a great welcome to Copenhagen and acknowledged a significant birthday in our group.
He tailored the tour to our group's needs and stopped every 10mins or so to inform us as to what we were seeing. He provided great examples of both the danish concept of hygge and the benefits of the higher taxes there.
He was very generous with his time and I would actively encourage tourists to Copenhagen to book a tour with him.

We have lived in Europe for a decade and have taken city bike tours all over. This is one of my favorites EVER! My attention span is short but Michael kept me engaged the whole time. Due to COVID and bad weather we were the only ones on the tour...it was fabulous. Storytelling at its finest. Mike is one of a kind. Bike tours are the best way to really get a feel for the neighborhoods and also biking is a must is Copenhagen. Even our dog enjoyed the tour!!!!!

AMAZING BIKE TOUR! Mike is an amazing human; kind, incredibly funny, passionate, knowledgable, welcoming, and engaging! We saw so much of Copenhagen on this 3 hour ride. Price is around $50 USD but I'd even pay more for it given how stellar it was! We had a blast riding around the city learning about Copenhagen's history and hearing Mike's anecdotes. Truly a great activity for anyone who can ride a bike!

Hi Mike,
we'll be in Copenhagen with our bikes next Saturday. We need to head to the city center from Rødovre camp site. We would like to participate in your tour. Where and when do you start and how much is it? Thanks for a brief reply. Regards Torsten

Hi, we are coming to Copenhagen in September and would love to do a cycle tour as an introduction to this city. What times do you offer tours on the 13 September? We would prefer a morning tour... and how do we book with you or contact you? (email? WhatsApp?) Do we need to hire cycles separately or are they provided?
Written 6 June 2018
Mike has his own website, just google Bike Copenhagen with Mike and you will find it. Very easy to navigate and I have checked his tour schedule and he has a 10.00am tour on the 13th Sept. Mike provides bikes and cycle helmets (if you want one). I Can't recommend this tour or Mike enough, we had great fun, saw the sites and Mike is so passionate about his homeland, I learnt a lot :-)

Hello, we are visiting Copenhagen this weekend and only have two days there. Does this tour give enough time at each site to take pictures? and roughly how long does the tour take?
thank you
Written 1 March 2016
The City tour takes about three hours, plenty of stops, I am sure for some with enough time to take pictures, for others too little time to take pictures, the tour is a public tour, best way to prepare decision to join or not is to visit website and read: "how it works". Thank you.

Can we bring a six year old on the bike tour, in a child bike seat? If so, do you have such bikes/seats available?

Hi, Mike. Am arriving in Copenhagen morning of Aug. 17. Will be staying at Scandic Copenhagen. Would you have a tour available that afternoon? How long would it be? How close are you to my hotel?
Thank you,
Kathy
