At first Mike seems like he might be a bit standoffish..... SOOO not true. He is engaging, has a good sense of humor coupled with a great knowledge of the Copenhagen he knows intimately. Great sense of history. All in all, it is a wonderful overview of the city. We have done alot of bike tours and I highly recommend this one.

In Copenhagen the first time and for only 3 nights, Mike's bike tour was the ideal way for history nut dad and action man teen son to get a handle on Copenhagen in one entertaining, freewheeling afternoon. Mike says there is no key bit of the city you cannot access by bike in 15 minutes, and 3 hours with a welcome street food break packed in all the main sights with ease. Mike is an amusing speaker who stops every 10 minutes or so to deliver an information-packed yet informal description of the sight just reached, from the Royal Palace, to Hans Christian Andersen's Nyhavn home to the Little Mermaid herself. Even better are the social insights, which invite bikers discreetly and hilariously into an aspect of the Danish psyche that foreigners might not otherwise have guessed at. For all his incisive wit Mike truly loves his nation's inclusive ethos, and meanwhile imparts gold dust recommendations about affordable eateries along the route. If we'd done his tour on our first not our last day we'd have tried some! The one criticism that chimed from other comments is that he starts speaking as soon as he hits the ground at the next sight, so arrivals from the back of the line can miss the first limpid sentence or two. I didn't mind that because you still get plenty of info but it pays to ride your bike right up to where he's standing when you stop, rather than hovering politely off the back of the group.

We covered large areas of Copenhagen and Mike was knowledgeable when we could hear him. The group was made up of 16 of us. In my opinion, far too many. We lost a member of the group, people kept being left behind at traffic lights and it just didn't feel very safe. I think maximum 10 to a group would be better. Mike often started telling the group about the landmark he had stopped in front of before the whole group had reached the landmark. This became frustrating and made everyone want to try to push to the front to avoid missing out. When there are 16 of you, it just doesn't work. My bike was pretty old and knackered. Mike came across as grumpy and dry (I usually enjoy a dry sense of humour), and this is apparently part of his charm but I frankly found it a little rude. The balance was off. I felt he didn't care about the safety of the group and seemed bored of what he was doing. Just going through the motions of another 3 hour tour. He just seems like he's had enough. It's a shame as he'd been recommended to us from people who had experienced his tour a number of years ago, so he clearly offered a different experience back then. He does have excellent knowledge of Copenhagen and Denmarks history, which I really enjoyed listening to when I could hear him and he was occasionally amusing. I enjoyed the parts of Copenhagen he guided us around too.

We did this on our first morning in Copenhagen and I would recommend to anyone visiting the city to start with a bike tour. It’s the best cycling city in the world and a great way to explore and Mike in particular was brilliant with suggestions for places to visit, eat and wider historical and political knowledge of Copenhagen and Denmark. We would definitely do one of his other tours in our next visit!

Mike has varied reviews for his tour, some are outstandingly good which is why we booked. The overwhelming impression is that the tour is great fun and Mike is very entertaining. Yesterday that was not our experience. We struggled to hear his comments, the group of 20 was too big for us to be able to hear easily, but what we did hear didn’t seem particularly engaging.

We are experienced cyclists but found the city bikes provided were difficult to ride and some of the group were very wobbly such that cycling in a large group in busy areas and narrow paths felt unsafe.

The bikes were not great, and in such large numbers radio sets would have been helpful.

I’d go with an operator taking out smaller groups if I were to choose again.

I was so surprised by this tour - I had read it was very good, but really didn’t expect to learn so much and also to be so entertained by Mike the very engaging tour guide. You really get a feel for not only Copenhagen’s sights but also for the Danish way of life and how it’s has come to be the way it is today - Mike is a great ambassador for Copenhagen and Denmark - I thoroughly recommend taking this tour, thank you Mike from barb and noel

Really good bike tour with someone who really knows the subject.

The only reason I've held back from a fifth star is nothing to do with the tour itself.

It's to flag up that if you are not an experienced cyclist then cycling in Copenhagen can be stressful.

Obviously it's a busy city with lots of experienced cyclists, and if you are on a bike there is probably a reasonable expectation that you know what you're doing.

If you haven't been on a bike for a long time I'm not sure Copenhagen is the place to reacquaint yourself with two wheels.

We had a wonderful (more than) 3 hours on Mike’s bike tour. There was a perfect balance of historical facts, amusing facts and personal stories too to bring sights more alive. We thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt so much. Mike looked out for the group the whole way round and answered all questions with fact and humour. We loved it and would highly recommend this tour. You won’t be disappointed

There were some good aspects of the ride with Mike but some pretty terrible ones too! The bike that I was given to ride was pretty old and had a plastic cover over the seat. When I lifted it off I saw why - the seat had several cracks in the top of it, which made for a pretty uncomfortable ride. On top of that, we seemed to ride around in circles at times and no one was actually sure where we wee going. We didn't stop at some magical places (like a gorgeous illuminated in the sun with swans swimming in the lake out the front of it - truly stuff from a fairytale) and when the tour was almost over, he managed to leave three of us on the tour stuck behind a red traffic light. We had alot of trouble finding our own way back to the shop and he didn't seem too perturbed that he had lost three customers.

Mike is amazing - he is funny, interesting and gave us a real insight into Copenhagen. I would highly recommend his biking tour as a great way of exploring. He went out of his way to make it fun.
