It is only 15 mins walk from Arabas hostel, but be careful -the upper town of Thessaloniki is like a labyrinth -I recommend you carry a map. This place is unique, and the history of the mosaic of Jesus without a beard is very rare.

This is a wonderful small church in a picturesque neighborhood. We were very lucky and the church keeper was there. Look for him - he is full of knowledge about the church.

It is one of the most beautiful small in size churches I have been. The architecture is fantastic. The neighbour where is the church is so lovely! It closes at early afternoon so go there early.

The star attraction of th small monastery located in a serene spot mid upper town, is a 5th century mosaic and a must see, visually well preserved, colourful and interesting. The caretaker was informative and helpful.
