A small, intresting museum fo the local ship-building history. Worth a visit for an hour or so......

During your visit you will be able to see nautical and shipping instruments, reconstructions of traditional boats, books on shipping, seascapes by Kavala painters, dozens of photographs from the port and its traffic, a traditional fishing boat known as a “trehantiri” from 1961 and the historic boat of 1932, now repaired, that was in action during the German-Bulgarian occupation.

based on the huge naval history and tradition of Kavala ,a group of friends establishing a naval museum...a small museum worth to visit

there are not so many museums in the city but if you are a museum tourist in this one you will definitely learn something.

The museum is at the 'historical tobacco warehouse". They have very small amount of artifacts to express the history of the maritime industry in the region. Sorry, but we didn't like it. It needs to be develop substantially.
