Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Vasilitsa snow center is very good and beautiful because the it has a lot of courts depending on your level and also because it’s full of trees and is not a flat track ! I rent equipment for snowboarding at good price and good condition and I really enjoyed it !

Great quality of snow, nice long slopes. Suitable for young children but also for experts. I didn't surfed, I stayed in the coffee house and enjoyed the fireplace and the alpic view. Must visit even for the view

The shops and F&B spaces are very limited, there were not even WC available. Totally unacceptable!!
Not a pleasant visit
The close by village of Smyxi seems abandoned!
Many hotels on the way are not in operation.
Perhaps only for hardcore skiers who don’t pay attention to accommodation and apre ski options

One of a kind area with a great panoramic view of the mountainous Greece
You can have a great time wandering, skiing and doing all shorts of activities.
You can also stay at the Challet Vasilitsa 1850.
Lovely fireplace in the main entrance, cosy bar and awesome friendly stuff.
You can find shared rooms, meticulously cleaned and free wifi.
Great location - but lovely and quiet.
Do not miss to visit the chalet's restaurant. It has great local dishes, especially those with wild mushrooms.

Visited in late December 2015. The road to the ski resort provides a scenic route, which unfortunately we did not get to enjoy, due to the thick fog. There are several chalets to chill out if you are not able (or willing) to ski. Many equipment rental shops and ski teachers as well. Will try to revisit in the near future.

We drove almost 3 hours to find the place. There are signs at start but no signs at all has you get deep into the woods.
The site is ok but the drive to get there spoild most of our day.

An excellent area for ski and relax for any person who wants something special. The area is full of forests and rivers. Also nice hotels offer accommodation and good food. Prices are logical. Weather during our stay was good with temperatures around 20 Celsius.

I had alot of fun going there we went up the hill and down the hill like 10.000 times, only one bad thing happened on out trip and that is of the kid WHO got his foot cought in the brakes of the sleigh and he had to go to the hospital for 6 stiches.....Anyway... do not leave your Children alone people...So anyway when you go in the canteen there is nowhere to sit couse it is so small. And the bathrooms toilets are turkish style. Which I think is quite disqusting since you can small youre own pee and everyone elses pee.!.

Hello! Does this ski resort open over the Christmas period, and if so, is it a good time of year for snow?

Hello, we are a family of 5 who are keen to try skiing but also see Greece.
We are hoping to come at start of April.
I have looked at many ski resorts in Greece and the northern resorts seem the best bet as they are more likely to have good snow in April.
Vasilitsas looks good. What is the best way to get there by public transport? And where is the best place to stay where we could access the slopes easily and also be able to go to cheap places to eat?
Thanks.

Good morning! Yes, Vasilitsa is a good bet, since it haw the longest snow period in Greece, BUT, probably there will be no snow on April. Even in the best years thw snow melts till the end of March -we are in Greece.
As a place to stay, there are a lot of opportunities to the nearby villages and on the road to Vasilitsa, byt nothing in the resort. You will have to hire a car as there is no public transport to Vasilitsa and the other villages have bus only once a day (if they have). If you have a car all the hotels are in a distance of less than 15 minutes from the ski-center. There are hotels for all budgets, from luxury to small hostels in the villages. As for the food, all restaurants on the mountain have excellent food -mostly roasted or grilled meats and of course lamp on the spit and kebab. The food are fairly cheap and the postions are huge everywhere.
