About
Bookended by a cliff, you have to descend a steep flight of steps to reach this breathtaking beach boasting fine powdery sand and calm sapphire waters. There is a restaurant up top with staff on the beach ready to take your order and send your food and drinks down to you. Porto Katsiki is best enjoyed before noon or in the evening, as multiple large tourist boats stop by in the afternoon. Bring an umbrella as the cliff, while magnificent, offers little in the way of shade. Stay out of the restricted areas as there is a risk of falling rocks. – Tripadvisor

- Munzer QSun Valley, Idaho165 contributionsMost beautiful beach on Lefkada!Without a doubt one of the most beautiful beaches you kind find. The bluest water with gorgeous white cliffs all around. Just amazing. The drive is long but you get to a parking lot, 7 euros to park. About 20 steps down is the beach.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 June 2024
- Vuk K5 contributionsHeaven 💙One of the most beautiful beach in the world. Just go do not hesitate for a second. Water is amazing and beach is WOW. Just bring umbrella because sun is very strong .No sunbeds on the beach bring your own equipment. There is a bar before going down prices are normal you can buy water , coffee, drinks and food.Visited June 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 11 June 2024
- Nicola S39 contributionsFlee before tripper boats arrive and idyll ruinedWonderful… with caveats. If you’re a swimmer it is beautiful. BUT. Get there for 9am. When there is still shade. The loos were shut (maybe open later in season). One kiosk open with great coffee. Steps down fine. WARNING. Leave as tripper boats arrive at around 11.30 when the beach descends into a scene from Hieronymus Bosch …!!!Visited June 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 17 June 2024
- Yaron CLes Champeaux, France10 contributionsThe most beautiful beach in the worldOne of the most beautiful and clean beaches I have seen. Clear turquoise water. ...Here are 2 tips 1. Bring an umbrella because there is no shade at all. 2. You can park the car before entering the arranged parking lot and pay 8 euros.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 June 2024
- LD8849 contributionsBeautiful but crowdedBeautiful beach. Very small and crowded. I would advise to get up early and drive to the beach and arrive at 10 am the latest. The parking costs 10 euros but if you get there early enough you may be able to park for free further up the road. FYI this isn’t a relaxing beach. Big boats come in around 1pm and blast their music. Also with it being so popular and so small, people sit right next to you. It can be quite disruptive but nevertheless it’s a lovely beach to see. There is also no shade and only one shop where you can buy drinks. Come prepared: food, shade, drinks and soap! The toilets are awful and there is no soap. Hope this helps!Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 6 September 2024
- SFPriorHigh Wycombe, United Kingdom936 contributionsIncredible ViewsWe hired a car and enjoyed a morning at Porto Katsiki. We got there around 10.00 and it was already busy. The views are gorgeous but the beach is very busy and by the time we left at 12.00 lots of people were arriving. The car park is 10 euros whether you stay for 2 hours or the whole day. The water was clear, crystal blue.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 10 September 2024
- Lefkothea C5 contributionsThere are some negative aspects, but a fantastic experience overall.Porto Katsiki was, for me, the most beautiful beach on Lefkada. The view from the parking lot was fantastic, the waters amazingly blue under the summer sun. The view looks exactly like the pictures. As for all beaches on the west side of the island, the drive there can be a bit difficult, with lots of turns. Parking costs 10€. It can be very crowded, there are no beach bars (you should bring your own umbrella). There are two little shops next to the parking lot, however I would advise you to bring your own snacks and drinks. The cruise ships come close to the beach, some of them with loud music on speakers and that can ruin the experience for some, but they stay for a short time.Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 12 September 2024
- robertvizitiuBucharest, Romania56 contributionsA must seeAn extraordinary beach and a mist seen for Lefkada, don't miss it. Bad news is not organized and you have to bring everything with you, snacks ,drinks and very importnat an umbrella if you plan to stay all day. Very important: don't forget you water shoes, there are a lot of small stones and is very painful to go jnto the sea . The parking is 10 euro but if you park before the main parking area is free.Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 September 2024

A beautiful beach lovely clear waters and stunning views. Little caves which you can swim into. Smallish beach, but stunning.
Beach is down a very steep slope/steps from the car park area. Car parking is expensive 10€ for the day, no hourly rate. 5€ after 3pm.
At the top of the slope there are shops selling ice creams and usual beach fair. People were very friendly and helpful. Not too busy and there was a seating area to take in the views from the top.
Getting to it was an experience. Incredibly narrow and very windy roads, hairpin corners, blind corners, single track roads on the sides of very high mountains, driving there is not for the faint hearted.
We followed the road signs to get there which took us about 20km our of our way getting there, through difficult roads. The journey back was far easier when following google maps and not the sign posts.
While we were there some tourist boats arrived and crowds then jumped off and into the sea to enjoy the clear blue water.
It’s definitely a place to get to early, to get a car park space and to trek down to the beach. The walk back up the steep slope was very long and tiring.
Not suitable for those with mobility issues.
The only toilets were at the shops, at the top of the slope down.
But for stunning views, lovely water etc, it’s perfect.
Shops are pricey it cost 25€ for 4 ice creams and drinks. (£22.60)

Porto Katsiki ( The Goats' Port) is Lefkada's " must see"! The symbiosis of white steep rock with pristine and superclear water looks like a scenery from a movie or a dream. If you come in the morning, the rock gives piece of shadow to the beach. Upstairs, on the way from the parking area, is a bar. On the beach there is also delivery of a food, so you will not be suffering from hunger, but I would recommend to postpone it a bit and make a stop in a tavern called " Ionio", which will be on your way back to Egremni beach on your left side. Their Rabit Stifado is the best greek food I have ever tried- we had it there 3 years ago and this year we came back and they are keeping the quality!

A slice of paradise. Well worth the drive. Fotis from the kiosk saved the day, our car key got wet and he helped dry out the key and got us on our way. What an absolute legend. Porto Katsiki is a perfect spot for snokeling. Toilets are are inside the kiosks, selling snacks etc. A shower is near the first carpark. You can find free parking ob roads leading down to the beach or pay to park nearer the beach. On the way home pay a visit to the Ionio tavern to eat traditional Greek food, the soutzoukakia meatballs are phenomenal, over looking the sea at sunset.

Yes, it can be crowded, but this a long beach and you can still find a spot for you. And if you're not the type of person that lays on the beach from morning till dawn, you will find it more beautiful in the afternoon. Parking is 10 euros, after 4pm is half the price. This beach has bigger pebbles than others I've seen in Lefkada, therefore some water shoes will do wonders.
Just pause a moment and breath in the views! It's simply stunning!

Very beautiful beach, i was really impressed with the color of the water. It had the perfect temperature for swimming. Food and drinks are brought to you directly to the beach, the prices are a little bit high but considering the delivery directly on the beach it was ok. The acces in the water is all pebbles, so consider getting some water shoes. In the afternoon it is very hot and little to no shade is available. So i would recommend going very early and bringing an UV umbrella! By 2pm the parking area is packed and also the beach is VERY crouded. The downside is that there are no showers and the toilets are up where the food area is. Very few trash bins in the food area and also very little shade. Overall a good experience as long as you get there early and leave when the temperature is too high.

Amazing beaches, definitely visit Porto Katsiki preferably outside of the weekend and always in the morning to find a parking lot (10€).
Apart from the famous beaches, Porto Katsiki, Sedima, Egremoni, Agios Nikitas, there are others equally good. I suggest the Pefkulia and Gialos.
In August the traffic on the island is increased and there is a problem in finding a parking space.
Prices for food are somewhat stained as expensive in the city of Lefkada.
Do not miss a visit to Karya, a beautiful mountain village with good food.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon in June and were surprised that it wasn’t busy at all. We parked on the side of the road to avoid the parking fee and had no issues. Beach was gorgeous, very clean and the water temperature was perfect. Limited shade so bring an umbrella if needed. Nice that there’s a shop at the top for drinks / ice creams

Nice beach on the southwestern coast of Lefkada. The water is crystal clear and bright turquoise. The beach is very clean, pristine and suitable for children
However, Porto Katsiki is no insider's tip anymore, so during the day it gets more and more crowded. Also the parking fee of 10€ per day is from my point of view quite expensive.
All in all we had a really good time there and we would go to Porto Katsiki again.

Absolutely stunning setting and the clearest waters I have ever seen. Be prepared to travel down a few flights of stairs to get there but well worth it when you do. We arrived at 2pm and it was very quiet plus had protection from the sun in a shady patch created by the cliffs edge.
Have read a few reviews where it mentioned 10 euro for all day parking and 5 euro for afternoon only. We were charged 8 euro to park which I suspect was either inflation or Mr parking man lining his own pockets. Regardless, a very worthwhile journey around the island to get to this place.

Salve, volevo sapere se da Vassiliki si può arrivare a porto katsiki con taxy boat. Se si, quanto costano? Grazie in anticipo.
Written 19 January 2020

Agios Nikitas to Porto Katsiki on a 2 wheeler(I am very comfortable to ride a 2 wheeler).
1. Are there petrol stations on the way?
2. Is it too windy that it becomes impossible to ride a bike?
Written 14 February 2019
It's a 30-kilometer trip to Porto Katsiki. I do not know how much your engine consumes, but 5-6 liters should get you back. It is an EKO gas station, 2 km from Agios Nikitas, near Kathisma Beach, but it did not look very good. My advice if you have to get full is to go back to Lefkada Town, there are lots of gas stations at good prices, the closest being a Shell gas station. Regarding the wind, I do not think it's going to make you trouble in the summer months. The route is wonderful but full of curves and in some portions it is narrow.
