The 400 steps connects the shore (Yialos) part of the town with the upper part (Khorio), Gives you excellent views and the town at close hand.

Taking you from Yialos to Horio on foot is this monster route. Yes the steps are steep but the mix of stunning views, classical Greek architecture and the reward of an ice cold Mythos at Lefteris taverna make the effort worthwhile. We walk it daily...More

Just get up the stairs and get a look at the different colours of the houses' facades, then try to find all the unique glimpses kept into the alleys climbing down to the sea...

Symi town is split between the lower harbour area...Gialos...and the upper town...Chorio high above the port. The main path up is the Kali Strata....a fascinating street of character and history......an eclectic mix of beautiful renovated ships captain mansions sitting alongside the ruins of others. There...More

We were really looking forward to walking up the Kali Strata and weren’t disappointed. We set off at 6.30am, the temperature had been in the 30s the previous day so didn’t want to be going up much later. It was lovely and peaceful as no...More

It's a nice walk inside the enchanting village of Symi. It's a not so hard climb, but you can see and enjoy an amazing panorama of Symi bay. You can see traditional buildings and breathe the essence of that island. That island is well connected...More

Walking up the Kali Strata can be exhausting, specially on hot weather. I went all the way up to the "lonely" church on top of the hill. There was no one else there and giving me a great opportunity to get some great pictures from...More

It's 372 steps to the excellent Olive Tree cafe or 399 steps to the village square at the top. Hard work when it's very hot but worthwhile to see the traditional Greek houses and views.
