I have no idea who carved out this lion nor why. I wish I did. Took me a while to walk to it out of the Hora as I got distracted and missed the gate and steps descending to it

The lion itself is an impressive rock craving from about 600bce but there is no information plaque at the site. Set off from the main town as the sun is getting low and enjoy the wonderful walk and views before reaching the lion.
