Pretty piece of architecture worth your visit. It also offers some fine male singing in the early hours of weekend - we lived around and song of Greek people woke us up sometimes to catch the beautiful day.

The cathedral is small and very ornate. The ceilings are particularly interesting. It is however a 19th century) building. More interesting –just off the square in front of it - is the tiny Church of St Minas, the predecessor to the cathedral which is older...More

One of the many gorgeous Byzantine churches in Heraklion, St. Minas Cathedral dominates the square, and energizes the area during feast days. It has a very interesting theological bookstore next door, which has some gems for book collectors, some jewelry, and some souvenirs.

The cathedral is ornate and gorgeous, among the most beautiful churches in all of Greece. Fantastic examples of several branches of arts: frescoes, architecture, large-size stained glass, woodwork, ironwork, etc.

This is a beautiful cathedral in this lovely old town/city in Crete. It is elegant with good architectural features and sets the town off really well. It is worth checking out.

This cathedral was dedicated to the Patron Saint of Heraklion and is one of Greece's largest churches. It also contains a wonderful collection of religious icon paintings in addition to having an extremely beautiful interior.

A place of quiet reflection in a big bustling city. It has the most stunning murals covering the ceilings which must be seen to fully appreciate. Sit and take in the beauty of his building and have a quiet moment before re-entering the modern world.
