Kolokithia beach is best enjoyed early morning or late evening when the tour boats have gone. It's a bit of a trek from Elounda so we took the car and parked at the little car park and walked the rest of the way. When we...More

The causeway from Elounda is the route to this beach. You can park way up the top just keep driving. The beach is over the brow of the hill and is a small sandy beach with beautiful clear water. There are no facilities there so...More

It was interesting to hear the story but the see was too rough the see anything, snorkelling is the best option. However it was easy to see the salt pans, Basilica and mosaics and the church behind the Kanali restaurant worth a visit.

Make sure you pick a sunny day and head to the beach (about 1-hour walk from Elounda's taxi station). Most people recommend going after 15:00
