You can go on your own to Spinalonga without joining any local tour. Get to Elounda or Plaka by bus or taxi (about 45 min) and catch the ferry (it's a 20 minute boat trip from Elounda, 10 minutes if you take it from Plaka)....More

Hi we had a all in one trip with our coach but the boat went from elounda in the marina or further up the coast at plaka hope that helps
