This is a beautiful building and the architecture is just amazing. There are several other buildings and statues that are close by that are also worth a visit. We loved this area and there is a Paul just down the street.

Sadly it was closed when we came here, but I came for the architecture alone anyway (Danish architect designed this building and two others situated close by). We were able to peek through the windows and admire from the outside, the outside being beautiful also...More

We stopped by the National Library of Greece whilst on the Sights of Athens tour. The building itself is very impressive and designed to mimic the ancient architecture. It is part of Hansen’s famous Athenian Neoclassical Trilogy of buildings that include the National University of...More

The building seems to be very nice inside (we just had a quick glance through the doors), but the library is being moved somewhere else so we didn't get a chance go get inside, unfortunately.

The work of Danish architect Theophil Hansen this building is meant to echo the glorious architecture of Athenian past. It is a beautiful sight only spoiled by the view of shabby modern buildings across the street covered in graffiti.

The national library of Greece is located in the center of Athens. It is a beautiful and impressive buildings. Like many other buildings in Athens - it has a history, as it was established in 1832.

The National Library of Greece is meant to relocate in 2017 from its current neoclassical building to the new Stavros Niarchos Foundation complex in the bay of Phaliron. The address is Leof. Andrea Siggrou 364, Kallithea. The current building is absolutely stunning in terms of...More

Took many pictures of this building without realising it was the national library. I does not really look like a library but nonetheless a very nice building with well designed front and plants to enhance the esthetics of the building. This is one of the...More

Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is
grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from
the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its
underground stalls, the square is now mostly
frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The
most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set
off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually
