This is the third building by Hansen of his trilogy of neoclassical design. The other two buildings are the University of Athens and the Academy of Athens which are situated next to each other and next to the National Library.

We only walked in briefly but it was such a nice place. There are several floors of tall stacks visible from the lobby, really neat looking. There were a lot of people there but not overcrowded, except for computer work stations which were very popular....More

This monument is a masterpiece. A historical building with beautiful architecture and many books to help any person that is interested in searching historical or science matters. It worth a visit even though a quick walk around. The only problem is that the area around...More

This is a beautiful building and the architecture is just amazing. There are several other buildings and statues that are close by that are also worth a visit. We loved this area and there is a Paul just down the street.

The building seems to be very nice inside (we just had a quick glance through the doors), but the library is being moved somewhere else so we didn't get a chance go get inside, unfortunately.

The work of Danish architect Theophil Hansen this building is meant to echo the glorious architecture of Athenian past. It is a beautiful sight only spoiled by the view of shabby modern buildings across the street covered in graffiti.

Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is
grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from

frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The
most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set
off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually
coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a
