Elevated walkways allow you to view the ruins, sadly mined for stones for construction. Outlines of the structures very clear.

I had trouble finding this place and information about it. It is behind the Poussada (which in turn is behind the st Luzia church). There is a formal entry and it is closed on Mondays, though they very kindly let me visit on a Monday....More

It is rare to see such substantial remains of prehistoric houses. I know most are only a few courses high, but nevertheless you get an insight in to what this sizeable town must have been like 2000 years ago. Well worth the token entrance fee...More

Take a trip up the finicular and a short walk round the hill are these ruins. Make of them what you will, but they illustrate how long there has been a thriving settlement in this region. Thought provoking.

It is a long road - with sights of ruins that are really ruined - what I mean is that you only get to see the borders of the old rooms which gets boring with time. Not worth it.

After we found out where this place was on the road to the Pousada, in an office style silver/grey box with a sliding door. We weren't disappointed. The Roman ruins are extensive and very interesting. Walking around gives you a glimpse of the scale of...More

A must see for everybody who is interested in history, archeology or simply by the idea of how people lived before our written documents. Well this was once a real structured town on a hill. With many things you know today: streets, houses close together...More

We stayed at the Pousada and the ruins are right there. They have a nice walkway around the ruins and the views are great. They have brochures in different languages explaining the ruins which is very helpful. They are well excavated, and since we were...More
