Booked Right Track Tours for a trip from Porto to Ssntiago De Compostella. Margueritte is one of the best drivers I ever had the pleasure of travelling with. She was very pleasant and there was no rush. We visited many colourful villages where festivals were taking place. Marguirette's friend Anna was a very friendly and pleasant lady who even came to the top of St Lucia Cathedral with us. The four of us had a beautiful lunch together during which they told us of many local traditions. I cannot praise Right Track Tours enough. It was a wonderful trip with Margueritte and Anna.

We toyed with many ways to get to Pinhoa and the Douro Valley and this was by far the BEST way to do it. The 8 hour boat ride could never give you what we experienced. Alexandre and his wife have perfect English and are wonderful hosts. We saw a small typical village, a spectacular small church, a local village, and then an hour long boat tour of the valley (perfect time). Then we had a sumptuous lunch with everything included. After that a tour of Sandeman with a 3 Port tasting . Worth every penny and best way to see the valley. I am upset more reviews have not been made as this is the single best tour from Porto to Pinhao ever.

I would highly recommend this to everyone! We could honestly not have wished for a better day!!
Hosts were so kind, lunch was typical, delicious and had an amazing view on the valley, the boat tour (1 hour) was long enough to enjoy the amazing scenery and the winery tour was great as well. Everything was perfect.
Alexander & Margarett are two wonderful hosts, both very lovely and had a lot of knowledge about Portugal's history and wineries which made the trip even more interesting. We learned so many new things which would've not been possible if we had went in the Douro Valley by ourselves like we originally planned to.
They were well organized and still gave us enough time to take pictures and admire the view whenever there was a great spot.

I highly recommend Right Track Tours for day trips around Porto. I spent the day touring the Douro Valley with Alexander who was the perfect guide. There had been 4 of us booked however the other 3 ladies pulled out at the last minute, and Alexander kindly still ran the tour just for me. He is extremely knowledgeable about the area including the history and methods of the wine industry, and provided fascinating commentary without being overly talkative. My tour included a 2 hour cruise along the Douro and a tour and port wine tasting at Sandeman. A lovely day!

I was trying to find a last minute booking to see the Douro Wine Region which was hard to do because I was travelling solo and most tours were booked out or required at least two to book. I happened to pass a tourism office and the staff there called Right-Track for me. It took less than 5mins and they accepted immediately and included me in a group. It was great from start to finish! I felt so welcome and as though we had known eachother for a long time. They had many stories to tell about the region and the wine and were just genuinely nice. I already recommended them to other friends when they go to Oporto. Obrigada Alexandre and Margarita!

My husband and I did two trips with Right Track: on to Guimares and Braga, and the other to the Duoro Valley. While both places are very beautiful and interesting, we did not enjoy our experience with the tour guides. The first day, we were left in the hands of Margarita, who is an excellent driver, but who does not speak English very well. We were surprised to be left to tour buildings on our own. It was also quite surprising and annoying that we were left to wait outside in the rain and cold for a half hour when our guide did not show up at the place she said she would meet us. Maybe a communication problem? But communication was not easy. Our lunches were most uncomfortable, with my husband and I asking questions and trying to make conversation. The second day, I decided I was not going to try so hard and we hardly spoke at all! Our guide just sat down at a restaurant table without inviting us to join him and we had to figure out from this that we were eating here. The guides seemed much more interested in talking with their local friends than with us and that just seemed rude. They are very nationalistic, seem to be happy that their country is not very accepting of immigrants and talked as if we would just agree with them. I guess they thought we were also less valuable foreigners. Alexandre has a good handle on the history of his country and can spout lots of facts and dates. But the tours seemed to lack a human touch and it was very noticeable to us.

What a fabulous day, 10 hours of beautiful scenery, wine, lunch, winery tour and the best hosts. Alexandre and Margarete are simply stunning hosts and having grown up in the Douro Valley region provide a perspective of the region that truly lets you get to understand the region. We could not gave wished for anything better and whilst the tour had a general structure, our small group of 4 enabled us to enjoy at our own pace and modify to ensure we saw the sites. We will be back. Highly recommended!!

Me and a friend visited Lisbon & Porto in 1 week. When in Porto we were looking for a possibility to go to the Douro region. Via a local tourist office we came in touch with Alexandre and his lovely wife.
The trip was absolute perfection.
Pick-up at our appartment in Porto, private drive and visit to Regua & Pinhao. In Pinhao we made a wonderful boattrip through the Douro valleys and drank some port wine. Afterwards we also had lunch with local delicacies and finally we also visited a wine farm. All of this accompanied with the lovely hosts who know so much of the region and tell about it with such great passion, made it an unforgettable journey.
We will recommend this to everyone planning a visit to Douro and with a day to spare.
