Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely wide expanses of beach. Calm and peaceful. Easy access from Porto, only a half hour on the bus, which runs regularly. Can be quite windy and cold however, even if it’s warm on the city. Sea is cold.

Fantastic walk into Porto along the beachfront path. Watch the waves on the rocks or lots of sandy beaches to stop on. There’s many cafes along the way together with toilets. The tour buses use this route together with the trolley buses.

A 10 minute drive with the bus 500 from the city centre, this is a wonderful place if you want to ride your bike, walk along the ocean or stay at the beach.

This is another of those places which is worth more than average but probably doesn't quite merit very good. So I've given it the benefit of the doubt!

Personally, I think the promenade with its attractive houses and nice wide pedestrian areas is nicer than the beach. Plenty of beach bars and eateries in the vicinity. But personally, I would keep going to either Matosinhos or Leca for better beaches.

It's located on the route of the excellent 500 bus from Porto to Matosinhos so it's easy enough to visit and move on. Or you could walk (or run) the promenade and take in the many sights and views as you go.

"Praia dos Ingleses"is nicely located on the beach, the food is tasty but the service is slow and the servers not at all friendly. They look like they don't care. We sat down to the side of the restaurant where they have small tables and relaxing chairs, and thye view was great. I'd say thumbs up on location, good food but the service is bad.

Typical beach for this side of the Douro, narrow golden sand beach with rocks at each end.
Small patrolled area.
Strong onshore wind.

We had a lovely promenade walk from Foz, heading north in the direction of Matosinhos.
In this section you will find a string of smaller beaches one after the other.
Ingleses Beach is a largely sandy beach with rocky outcrops around the shoreline.
Many cafes in the immediate surrounding area including one on the beach itself with the same name Praia dos Ingleses.
Heading north from the Felgueiras Lighthouse, Praia dos Ingleses is the third beach that you will come to.

Being a beach in the north of Portugal you will find the water cold however its a great place for sun bathing and to enjoy the local restaurants and feel that ocean breeze.
