Nice park and lovely church at the top of the mountain. Accessible by car or cable car. The cable car ride from the town is really nice. The views from the top are breathtaking. A must see when in Guimaraes.
About a 5 min uphill drive from Guimaraes. Couldn't believe how many people were here and how many facilities there were. Apart from the sanctuary and the boulders, there are market stalls, cafes and restaurants, a tourist train, grottos, mini golf and plenty of spaces...More

The park was extremely pleasant when we visited yesterday. Although it's well used, the standard of maintenance clearly is high. The view of the city from the point behind the church is worth the visit on its own.

Besides the views which are, obviously, stunning, the park is a haven for climbers or bouldering enthusiasts. Grounds are lush and make a nice change from the barren national parks dotted around other parts of Spain and Portugal. Camp site would be great for adventurous...More
