Nice park and lovely church at the top of the mountain. Accessible by car or cable car. The cable car ride from the town is really nice. The views from the top are breathtaking. A must see when in Guimaraes.

About a 5 min uphill drive from Guimaraes. Couldn't believe how many people were here and how many facilities there were. Apart from the sanctuary and the boulders, there are market stalls, cafes and restaurants, a tourist train, grottos, mini golf and plenty of spaces...More

This park is simply stunning. The huge rocks in the park are the largest in Portugal. They added small paths among the rocks which make walking there a lively and cute experience. More than highly recommended!!

This park is full of hidden little religious places. The main church is obvious, but there are other little sanctuaries as well. I've visited the place twice in 2017, once in July, and once in November. The weather is always pretty windy, so do dress...More

We went up at sunset in midwinter, so didn't have time for a long walk. It's a curious and slightly spooky place, with boulders, trees and shady paths and we could imagine how busy it would be in summer with picnics and walkers. It doesn't...More

The park was extremely pleasant when we visited yesterday. Although it's well used, the standard of maintenance clearly is high. The view of the city from the point behind the church is worth the visit on its own. The 18-hole miniature golf course at the...More

Besides the views which are, obviously, stunning, the park is a haven for climbers or bouldering enthusiasts. Grounds are lush and make a nice change from the barren national parks dotted around other parts of Spain and Portugal. Camp site would be great for adventurous...More
