A great square, very nice and full of people. I definitely recommend it if you want to relax a bit and just enjoy the air in Guimarães.

Nice cozy square in the middle of the historic centre, right in front of the church of Nossa Senhora Da Oliveira. Explore the little winding streets leading into the square and the nearby church. Lots of cafes and restaurants to choose from.

Nice, medieval square with beautiful buildings and churches. Despite of its name, there is only one unfortunate olive tree on the square. :)

Only had a few hours in Guimares but the square is very special. Not quite sure about the cafes/restaurants covering such a high proportion of it though. Building mix is spectacular and the smaller cafes are perhaps to be preferred, specially the local cakes.

Hang out here. Get something to drink before choosing another destination. Get lunch. Get dinner. Look, if I have to write 100 characters, I am not going to review these individual sites!

Wonderful place which give you a glance in the history of Guimaraes. The site is vers well maintain and, of course, it is not the original Oliveira.

The Largo da Oliveira was the historic centre of the town and still oozes some of that history and charm. We sat at one of the outdoor cafes, next to the olive tree that gives the square and the Igreja (church) da Oliveira their names....More

The square has the view of the church and ruined bell tower and many outside tables at cafes, restaurants and bars. Lovely to sit outside in the evening or during a sunny afternoon.

Yes. Going around the whole town is free. We just had to pay a few euros at the private car parking to park our car.
