The work displayed here is exquisite, but there are only two rooms of it. I had hoped for some information or examples of work in progress to show the various processes involved as I do a lot of embroidery and needlecrafts, but all they had...More

Came across this by accident. Decided to give it a try. 2.50 euros entry. Just two rooms. Mostly embroidery and some wooden artifacts with wooden inlays. Not very inspiring overall. No interactive items. Most of displays roped off.

A quiet museum which is a shame because it showcases this Madeiran traditional craft with a varied collection. Films in final room in Portugurse only bit images worth seeing.

I thought I would find this Museum very boring, but much to my surprise I found it most interesting and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

Embroidery is one of Madeira's historic crafts so after visiting a factory and a shop where the staff were very knowledgeable and helpful we set off up the hill to the museum. At the top of the stairs we came to the reception desk where...More
