This place is currently closed and abandoned, as well as many other historic homes in Funchal. There is no notification of the reason for the closure. The courtyard is overgrown with weeds, you can only look through the bars. It is a real pity.
This museum has been closed for refurbishment for over a year, however nothing much seems to be happy. BUT some copies of the photos can presently be seen at the "Quinta das Cruzes" museum. Or there are books available in souvenir shops and bookshops.
Walked past it yesterday. Closed and in a dilapidated condition. No further information,I'm afraid.
Not easy to say much else,therefore,except that it's located on a pleasant street in a picturesque area,with many cafes and restaurants all around.
