We are very glad we booked this hike with amazing landscapes! We were picked up at our hotel by Nico early in the morning, to make sure we wouldn't miss the sunrise. When we arrived at Pico do Areeiro, we started walking to the viewpoint to watch the sunrise. It was the most beautiful sunrise we have ever seen, so breathtaking! From this point, the hike continued to the Pico Ruivo. If you aren't used to hiking or have a bad condition, this hike can be quite tough as it has much height alterations and some very steep steps. As average hikers ourselves, we experienced this hike as challenging. However, our guide David was very attentive to everyone's pace and made sure that we could keep up with the group (of 7) by providing time to rest, so we didn't feel rushed. David also took the time to take beautiful pictures of us and we really appreciated the nice conversations we had during the hike. On the way back to the hotel, he told us a lot about Funchal and local places to visit. Thank you for this amazing experience, we would 10/10 recommend doing this hike when in Madeira!

We had a truly charming introduction to Madera on this tour. Our guide, Ricardo, was very personable and truly cared to make sure we experienced the wonders and joys of the island. The tour included the amazing scenery and sites as well as the taste of the fruits and the local cuisine. The pace of the tour was perfect. We felt comfortable the entire time. This tour should be a requirement for your first day on Madeira.

We were a group of four on a private customised full day 4x4. Ricardo was our driver. He was lovely and had a great sense of humour. The trip was worth every euro and Ricardo was very accommodating, even when we asked to change our trip route as he picked us up from our villa. We did an ‘east’ tour with a mix of exciting Madeiran roads and off road tracks. We visited Pico Areeiro, Faial, Santana and places in between. Being collected from our villa in Ponta do Sol meant we could all enjoy the Poncho and wine too! Ricardo was very knowledgeable and seemed to know many of the locals. We took his recommendation on a cafe and lunch stop and I’m so glad we did. They were fabulous places, full of friendly folk where the drinks and food were brilliant.
