This place was really cool with great views. It was the highlight of our trip to Lisbon and Sintra. Having said that, it is murder on the legs and tough going walking up and down all the steps, so a reasonable level of fitness would...More

Great old Moorish defensive fort. Information boards in English and Portugese. Great views of area, sea and Castle Pena. Lots of stairs so wear good shoes. Could spend 2 hours here if you have time.

Loved the castle! The view from the castle’s walls is unbelievable and there are loads of history everywhere you go. One of my favorite places in Portugal!

It's very close. The train is easy, but driving is simple too. Renting a car is easy and gives you a lot of flexibility - 30 minute drive from Lisbon.
